2007 BMW 5 Series

- good fuel economy, good leg room back seat, great BMW interior
- no cons yet, maybe a little sluggish in design.
Just purchased today, but have been looking for awhile. I am a lover of BMW and their stiff ride. I needed a vehicle that was fun to drive, convenient and a 6 foot plus man could be comfortable in the backseat. I like the MP3 interface feature, eliminates need for multi CD player. BMW Assist is a plus. Overall a really good car with surprisingly good mileage. I traded in an American SUV for this wagon and I find it fits me so much better. There are so many great little features, if you are thinking about a upper level wagon, be sure and take a look. This wagon even has a retractable dog barrier, WOW!I did not find the price to be an issue, a big decked out SUV would cost the same or more and have far more silly little bits to break. The BMW 503xit is an example of understated elegance and practicality....read morehide

- Beautiful car! I love to drive my wagon.
- Panoramic sun roof: very loud. Cup holders archaic.
I love the way this car drives. 2007 530 xi wagon. Only 2 complaints: 1) panoramic sunroof too noisy, unacceptable for a car like this. The sunroof in my volkswagon was quieter. 2) Cup holders for driver and passenger, ridiculous!

- Ride smooth...handling superb...beautifully finished.
- None so far,but crossing fingers on electronics. Why CD changer not standard?
We have a 2001 Mercedes E-Wagon ,as well as a new (1month) BMW 530xi Wagon. Both excellent. We prefer lots of cargo capacity ...with high performance.
Wanted an additional wagon and started out looking for another MB, but they don't seem to be very available...at least on West Coast; so widened our search to the BMW and Audi A-6 Avant. Impressed by both. Beemer more expensive, but its outstanding handling and road feel, as well as very classy interior styling and comfort gave it a definate edge. Using our Mercedes wagon as the benchmark, we bot our Beemer.
Proving to be a classy looking, responsive handling, tough vehicle. Love it. ALSO... geting a bit over 24MPG so far!!!...read morehide

- Love the perks, amenities
- hate the reliability or lack thereof.
I no longer own a 5 series wagon but had a love/hate relationship with it. I recently traded out of my 2000 5 series 528iT for a luxury Japanese model and with 60K miles, still walked away with 18K in trade. My BMW had both the sports and premium packages and was in mint condition appearance wise, but for the last 15K miles, seems as if I went from one electrical issue to another. I loved the car and truely miss it and despite the decked out Acura, it just is not the same vehicle. Despite the problems, I am not certain that I would not go back to another BMW wagon - I just wish that BMW would put more effort into the long-term reliability of the cars....read morehide

- way more comfortable seats than anything else, 4-year zero-maintainance, looks, auxiliary input
This car is awesome - totally utilitarian, great driving car, and extremely comfortable all at once. How many other cars can do that? I have to admit I was looking very closely at the Audi A6 Avant, which is about $5K less than this car. The Audi is a great car, but there were a few things unique to the BMW that sold me. The seats: although pretty good in the Audi, the BMW seats were far more comfortable and supportive - and let's face it - you sit in a car so this is really important. The Panoramic moonroof is really great compared to the standard-sizedd one on the Audi. The fuel economy is slightly better, and the BMW is just more of an intuitive driver compared to the Audi. The BMW handles amazingly well - like a small car - while the adaptive suspension smooths out bumps on the road. I can't wait to drive it in the snow and test out the x-Drive!! They are both about as quiet as each other. The back seats of the BMW are also deeper and nicer than those in the Audi, making long-hauls that much more comfortable. And though the Audi has a certain understated elegance, the BMW has bold design that I love looking at. the BMW also has an auxiliary port to which any mp3 player can be connected. I also found the iDrive system to be pretty intuitive and after only a week I'm already getting used to it. it's true the car is expensive, but if you have the means I highly recommend one......read morehide
