- Good options, comfort and performance
- Appearance and iDrive
Great car. Got it for only one month and can't get enough of it. Driving it every chance I get. I downsided from a RX330. I love the way it drives. Great balance between performance and comfort. Would definitely recommend to others. Only gripe is the styling, I prefer the Lexus GS styling much more....read morehide

- Great fuel economy, Not one problem 1st 10,000m. find new cools things daily. LOVE THE CAR
- I have not had one Con yet, other than the dealer is a little far away for the free car wash
I have owned 5 BMW's and four have had over 250,000 miles. I love this car and it handles GREAT!. I have not had one problem with the car what-so-ever. I have found that all my BMW cars have lasted and run and run. I know I will be driving this car 15 to 17 yrs. The 1985 318I I had for 19 yrs and 250,000 miles. A 1989 525I for 255,000 miles. A 1990 735IL for 249,992 miles the day I hit ice and wrecked. My ex has a 1990 735I that has over 260,000 miles on it. I love the new car, espically with the XI full wheel drive, it is almost impossible to slide the car at all, even when you try the driving control takes over and its unbelieveable. the features on this car are second to none, PERIOD. If this car were a woman I would marry her and My Fiancee knows it and loves it too. I only wish the dealer were closer to get the free car washes more. Its not worth it to drive out of my way. I completely endorse and love this car. It feels like you are sitting in a Laz-e-boy recliner and believe me others look like it but they are imatations....read morehide

- Excellent ride. tight and responsive. tech stuff is cool. the center dasboard control panel is cool
- Iopted for the garmin after market GPS, the german nav is too complicated and not very user friendly
Overall, this is the best performance vehicle I have ever owned. It has it all, except a compass in the mirror. Interior is smart and comfortable, exterior lines are stylish. All the bells and whisltles with out the killer V-8 make this the best car in it's class.

- Outstanding luxury, ride and handling. Electronics options well-designed
- Paintwork *slightly* orange-peeled, (base coat slightly dry) not up to standard for this car
Ride, handling, seats and other comforts are exemplary in this sedan. It is, in my opinion, the finest luxury car in its class.
I originally wanted the 535xi for the 300hp turbo engine, but didn't want to wait 90 days for it so took the first from inventory at the dealership. I have absolutely NO regrets. the 230hp six is quite adequate for any "normal" driving conditions. If you want to turn it into a fire-breathing performance car, buy the 535 turbo with the manual transmission, or the 550 with the V8.
Although she won't drive it often, my wife drove it comfortably. She was a bit intimidated by the I-Drive computer interface and other electronics. Note she had no trouble with the basics, (necessary controls) but selecting an audio source and tuning the radio were hard for her.
I'll tell you this - I'm a certifiable fanatic when it comes to my cars, and so far the only flaw I've found even worth reporting is that the paintwork on my particular car gets only an "acceptable" rating from me. The base coat is ripply with evidence of dryness in places. The clear coat is better, but no amount of polish will ever make it a first-class finish. It's "good enough" for me, (probably just fine for most) but the car otherwise deserves better.
I'm just getting started with this car so all the above is early impressions. I've had the car a couple of weeks and put on roughly 700 miles. The summary - It's an outstanding car and I recommend it very highly. So far the dealer experience has also been first-rate. If you're in the Yakima, WA area I wouldn't bother to look any farther than the local dealer - you won't find better service from the west side. (no affiliation, my opinion)
So what to do when the lease is up? If the experience continues as well as it's started, perhaps we'll up the ante a bit. I would have considered a 6-series this time if BMW had one with AWD. Anyone in Bavaria listening? ;-)

- Overall handling, standard features and fuel economy.
Unlike anything I have ever driven. I was on the fence between the Caddy STS and the 5 series. In the end there was really no comparison between value for the money and performance. The standard features also played a role.

- Is it really necessary to write a review on this car? It practically drives itself!
- Need to push memory seat button, instead of memory stored in key pad.
I'm very happy with the car. The excelleration is amazing, brakes are sensitive and handling is fun. The car is stylish, commanding and powerful. This one is made for the young at heart!!!
