I have owned a lot of high end cars and this is the best by far. I looked at all top brands (Jag, Caddy, MB, Lexus, Audi, etc) and the BMW 5 series won out (Jag was really close). Auto stop takes getting used to, but is absolutely no problem now. Only real issue is the turbo lag in the twin scroll system - but you get used to it and plan for it with no issues. The Premium Sound Package - get it! Comfort access - get it too. Car drives different from older models, but this new one is much preferred. I get mid 30's hiway MPG, 29 on the crawlways and 25 stop and go. Did not need bigger engine for little gain for the money (but all great). I love this car!...read morehide

Yep, BMW is chasing Mercedes customers and MB wants BMWs customers. Gone is the tight steering with loads of feedback. I have a car that looks good and gets attention, but is kind of boring - in looks and driving. The 650 Gran Coupe looks exciting but you are dumb to spend 27k more for it - same engine and materials. May have to swap into more fun - Lexus GS F sport or C63. Twin turbos are good on highway but a bit jerky in the city. Satellite radio is an option (really?). 550 does come loaded (Nav, PDC, Assist, camera)....read morehide

Great Ride. Easy to handle. Safe. Sound. Secure. Hugs te road in high winds (haven't tried in a tornado:-) and very smooth.
