2007 BMW 7 Series

- Drives amazing, handles well, space in rear
- Fuel economy, iDrive
Purchased As Used
I love this car. Bought a 3 year old CPO. Had a few initial minor issues (like noise from the engine, broken wiper, etc) but all covered by BMW. It's a true pleasure to drive every time. So smoothe and yet so fast.
The integrated navigation system is not as intuitive as one could wish, but once you get to know it it's ok.

- Smooth performance, better than expected fuel economy, perfect tranny
- Electrical nacthmares, uneven tire wear, seating position weird
Mostly happy with this car. The styling is still funny-looking to me, but wanted fast-performing sedan, good legroom in back, the best handling available, stability control, all the toys, as well as a car that doesn't wear the driver out on long trips. You get all that with the 750Li and more. Astounded with how little lag there is in the transmission and how impreceptable the shifts are. Love the smooth flow of power from those raging 8 cylinders and I can drive from Albuquerque to Phoenix and still feel energetic (don't expect that even from a Lexus). HOWEVER, owning this car is like having a 1985 Jaguar all over again...electrical & computer problems abound. Some days the engine-control modules will refuse to activate, they're replaced under warranty...it's like someone downloaded the hated 1st version of Vista to my car when I wasn't looking and there are bugs in the software. Then, the sunroof won't work at 23000 miles. A few miles later no power trunk-lid release. And for some reason the front tires wear unevenly...like that old 67 Pontiac I had as a kid that would never hold an alignment. Oy. Too much trouble for the bucks. After all, I don't need an $80K car to drive to work in or shop at Target. Next daily driver will be a Lexus LS again and I'll rent the 7-series from Enterprise for the occasional long trip....read morehide

- Just love the car. Beautiful handling despite its size.
I have driven Lexus LS460 (too docile, I might like it when i'm 70 years old),Audi S8(nothing special) and Mercedes S500 (nice but not driven as nice as a Bimmer). If you can afford it then should treat yourself with one.

- I have so far 14.8 local, standard I think
- Driving smooth, powerful.
I have just turned in my 745li and get a new 2007 750li. The improvement between 745li and 750li was suprised me. It's more smooth and tech advance. I was stocked in picking S550 or 750li, I end up decided BMW750li was because of the service. Also no cost or trouble free for my service and maintance.
My father in Law has a 2006 MB s-class for 11 months and the transmission oil leaking gave us a lot of troulbe. I check the other website's review of s-class, the review are not as good as Yahoo's....read morehide

I have just turned in my 745i after 3 years. I was very happy with the overall performance and even the i drive. it took me 1 week to get use to it. however, i have a problem with my new 750. it has delay shifting in and out of the 2nd gear. i know at least 2 other people in my bank that have the exact same problem....read morehide

- The car is a good car, which has GPS and many gizmos.
- The "i-drive" system makes us always read the screen, which disturbs our visibility.
The car is a good car, but it is a big, fat, heavy car. Why? Because once I saw the car, I was surprised... it's so ugly, I mean, the brake light indicator is just so small, it dosen't even match the headlamps. And I hope BMW will notice about that.

- Elegant look, solid performance, only car in the competition that is exciting to drive (S mode)
- iDrive navigation is terrible (next to useless), gas consumption (but thats the cost of S mode)
One week into my Monaco blue and tan interior 750i. Love the look of the car in the sunlight and even better the responsiveness of it on the road (mainly Sport mode but even regular Drive is not bad).
After test driving the Merc S550 (some accelerator lag and heavy feeling), Lexus 560 (too soft and cushy a drive) and Audi A8 (too spartan - no real excitment) I had to go with the BMW. It is not perfect by any means...the much maligned iDrive should have been improved by now- but has not been. The car should be better in winter but is not (Xi model possible?)
In summary - a wonderful, responsive car to drive, the sound system is excellent for CD's but FM stations sound a touch reverb/hollow , the hands free Bluetooth and voice activation - excellent - if you follow it's rules. A great car that looks the part....read morehide

- good looking car
- i'm not a computer genius
Wish the dealer was more educated on the computer system. It's been in for the same problem, numerous times! The navigation system is a joke, and the i drive is worse. Everytime I turnaround the car needs service. The entertainment system sounds good, but its way to complicated to program. Like I said I'm not a car computer genius....read morehide
