I am a complete car buff! I started looking at cars about 2 years ago and study and read on cars almost daily! I know all the cars including MBZ, Lexus, Honda, Toyota, Ferrari, Chevy, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley, Porsche, you get my point. I own a 360 ferrari. All I can say is that I spent 2-3 times more for a Ferrari 360 that my wife will not drive! The M3 is the greatest car in the world! Please anounce a car with a 6 cylinder, front engine, 2-wheel rear drive, coupe, with a 55K price tag that competes in acceleration, braking, and the most important one handling, handling, handling! I have a G-Tech system that reads .99G's in corners and about a .91G's with the Ferrari 360! Looks are so awesome I stare at the car daily! Keep in mind I have a 360 that maybe better looking, but if these were women the M3 would be a cute, smart, and great lover! The 360 would be a gorgeous bimbo with no class and terrible lover! Enough said!...read morehide

- Havent picked it up yet!
- not here yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow reading all the reviews really make me happy. Lets face it this is the best car ive ever seen! I purchased a 2006 Imola Red, Grey Leather, harmon-kardon sound system, xenon lights, heated seats and 6 Disc factory CD player! Ok you all are going to be pissed but buying directly from the factory mine came to just 52,555 delivered! Im totally thrilled. maby i shouldnt be writting yet because they wont start building mine even for 2 more weeks but im sure i will feel the same way once i take delivery. Ive never seen a imola red M3 in my life! Keep them clean guys and women! Im not impressed with the new BMW's at all the MOTORS YES! but the new designs are rather wierd. Like when they came out with the C-5 corvette never grew on me until this year. When only the best will do BMW M3 convertable!...read morehide

- Everyone doesn't have one. It's not too often that you see other M3's on the road. SMG rules
- Watch out for the curbs with the 19's. Otherwise hands down to German engineering.
What else can I say that everyone else hasn't said. I was looking at a 911 but when I drove this one I was blown away by the handling, smg, engine response, intereior comfort and the 30k less sticker for this one than the 911. And what a warranty. Can you ask for much more? I get more looks with this car than I have with any other sports car I've owned. If you do decide to buy the convertible. Make sure you order the hardtop. Spend the 2k for it. Looks and winter comfort are unmatched....read morehide

- Can you say "FAST"? Beautiful convertible. Handles like a dream.
- Stock tires wear quickly.
Purchased my M3 nine month ago. Fantastic automobile. Smooth, fast, incredible handling, great looking, and easy to use convertible. It has made driving fun again - from acceleration, cornering, down-shifting, stopping on a dime. Most fun is surprising those in corvettes, porsches, jaguars, etc. whether from standing stop or already at freeway speeds. This is the best use of 335 horsepower that I have ever seen.
The car is also great looking from any angle. Lines, wheels, tires, all make an impression. And watch out when the top comes down.
Only complaint is that the stock Continental tires wear very quickly - even moreso if you don't keep a very close watch on tire pressure. I replaced with Michelins as recommended by driving instructors at BMW's driving school and have been very pleased....read morehide

- Great acceleration, Great look, seats 4
- Ride is too rough
I traded in my 2001 330i for a 2004 M3 Convertable. I wanted a true sports car and convertable. I love the acceleration of the M3. I hate the rough ride. I miss my 330i.

- Power, Looks, Acceleration, Prestige, Feel, Cornering, Value
For those who are toying with the idea of buying this car,
I really wanted to take the time to write a review for those people who are on the edge, who are finding it hard to decide what to do. I am 28, single, and to tell you the truth this was the most that I could possibly afford for a car. Also, the qualities that I wanted in my car were horsepower, looks, value, and pure excitement.
I will say that after months of research, this car was the one that I wanted. 333hp, hmmmm, just read an article on a Porche 911 for over 80k, with just 313hp. Not bad. The only other car that comes close is the G35 with 298, but it just doesn't look as nice.
Anyway, I will tell you that I fly jets for a living, and I have trouble controlling this car in turns. It is raw power on 4 wheels, instant excitement. It corners better than any vehicle I have ever ridden, and it is so comfortable that I now find myself making excuses to drive, . . . anywhere.
This car is the best investment I have made, simply because every time I step in, I smile. It is so fun, and so thrilling, that when I strap this car on my body it is just fantastic.
It is faster than any car I have ever driven, and I can't say how many looks I have gotten as a result of being in it. An all around great buy for the value of what you are getting in terms of the engine.
If you have the means, . . . do it....read morehide

- Silly fuel economy considering the amount of compression ratio and performance under foot...AMAZING
- Stiff ride only when you hit an expansion joint square with both wheels at once.
Check it out, I'm 42 years old and a father of one little girl (Who loves my M3). I've had a lot of performance cars in my life ;1985 H.O. Mustang GT modified to 330 hp, 1990 Twin Turbo 300ZX boosted to 420 hp and 1995 TT 300ZX also same HP boost), 1997 Camaro SS 320 hp, 427 Everett Morrison Cobra Roadster 425hp-2160 pounds!(Fastest street car I ever owned), 1998 M3 5-speed, 2002 Subaru WRX boosted to 280hp, 2003 Supercharged Cobra Mustang boosted to 525 hp, And finally my 2002 M3 6-speed that I bought "used" in August of 2005.
Other than my Twin Turbo Nissans I had.....NOTHING has satisfied me as much as this M3. I waited for a clean lease turn-in at a great price and I found it ($37,500 with 26,000 miles and clean Carfax). This car does everything well, just like everyone else has described. The real kicker for me is that it has a split-personality. You can drive as calm as you want and commute everyday in it, or you can drive like you're Boris Said or Hans Stuck at the Ring! It's just a PERFECT Performance Car. I have a hard time NOT making excuses to go drive it and I put 200 miles a week on it going back-and-forth to work. I love it so much I'm considering buying a "Beater" to drive to work and garaging the M3 as to not put too many miles on it so much (36,000 now).
Heck, I just took it to Sebring Raceway a couple of weekends ago and drove it on the racetrack at speeds up to 130 mph for 45 mins. then I just got in and drove 200 miles home! The car is a total grin inducing machine! For all you young guys out there who are so lucky to have an M3 early in life.....save it and keep it mint, because they don't make them like this very often. Believe me I'm a car nut and I have high standards for weight vs. power plus gorgeous style and sophistication. So what if it's expensive to maintain when the warranty runs out.....so's my wife! The question is do you love her? Plus, the new M's are ugly and fat (too heavy) in my opinion, as are most of the "Chris Banglized BMWs".
To all who yearn for this car (2000-2005 M3) do whatever you have to do to get your hands on one. You will not be disappointed....read morehide
