My wife and I got this car mostly for her to drive, but I have been driving it quite a bit too, just because it gets better gas mileage and is more fun than my SUV. She prefers smaller cars and needed something that would perform well in the snow and this has definitely fit the bill. It drives like a sports car, but can handle some light SUV-type duties: I’ve managed to transport my bike in it with the seats folded down, and it has indeed handled the snow as well or better than other SUVs I've driven. The back seat is usable, but I doubt it would be comfortable for most full-grown adults on long rides. I’m sure it’ll work fine if we should find ourselves with kids though. It is kind of quirky though, with many of the controls not located in the spots where other car companies normally put them and a cup-holder hanging awkwardly off the center consul (This is my first BMW Maybe they always do things that way?) If you want all wheel drive and the ability to haul slightly larger objects than a sedan without giving up car-like handling and MPG, I would recommend it. If the full SUV Cargo capacity takes priority over driving performance, look elsewhere.
