- great ride, drives well, great engine
- gas guzzler
The car drives well. Doesn't feel like a big bulky suv (if you're into that). it's not the most fuel-efficient vehicle for sure.

Great SUV. I'vd had no problems with mine. This is my first BMW. I've owned other European brands. But, I must admitt, that I am sold on BMW now. :)

- Fun to drive!
- more standard features.
I've had my 04 X3 not almost a year and put 10k miles on it. I love it!! It is so fun to drive and I get many compliments. Especially on the panorama roof. I had to take it in the other day to have the rear hatch tightened. It was starting to rattle (fixed now). One thing I wish that had been standard was homelink. I hat getting out the door operner. The BMW warranty can't be beat! It's great!! I highly recommend this SAV!!!!...read morehide

- Handles beautifully, great in winter
- Brakes a BIT touchy
I live in rural Vermont, and while driving my previous SUV managed to slide off our driveway 3 times last winter... even with 4WD/snow tires (we live on a mountain). With this great little SAV, I haven't slid off road, NOT ONCE. Even when friends and coworkers have been off road/in accidents all winter, I have been safe, sound, and comfortable. This car is also a pleasure to drive in the summer, with it's sporty handling. I highly recommend it, and also recommend the heated steering wheel to those who live in cold climates, it heats up rapidly!...read morehide

- BMW handling. Think of it as a 3 series wagon with very nice trunk space. X Drive system is great.
- Interior can use more wood (wish is an optional package)
Offers the perks of a SUV (ride height, cargo load, X Drive) without the downsides of a SUV (the exterior bulk and poor fuel economy). Its handling and built are truly BMW. Very fun and comfortable to drive in all day long. Wish the DVD/CD changer is in the trunk so the armrest can be saved for storage since storage space is limited. Power trunk will be nice. Need cup holders....read morehide

- Great appearance, superb handling, excellent warranty, it's the best car I ever own.
- Don't know of any yet.
I have a Mercedes and a Corvette. By far this car is the best driving I have ever experienced. I bought my car overseas in Europe, I guess I didn't pay as much for the extras I added compared to those in the States. I will never buy anything else but a BMW. I have more than enough room in this car than I need for my three teen agers, they also love this car. The ride, handling and appearance are just superb. I love the fact that I built my car the way I wanted it. In other words , this is what I ordered and it came out exactly the way I wanted it and than some. Thank BMW for this great driving machine. It is truly an experience that will last a lifetime....read morehide

- EXCELLENT VEHICLE, GREAT ALASKA SUV, INCREDIBLE LEASING PROGRAM
FOR THE PRICE AND LEASE PLANS AVAILABLE, YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER VALUE. AS FAR AS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE IS CONCERNED, A BMW SAVED MY WIFE AND OLDEST SON'S LIFE WHEN A DRUNK RAN A RED LIGHT AND HIT US AT AROUND 40 MILES AN HOUR, IF WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN OUR MUSTANG, THEY BOTH WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THE VEHICLE MAINTAINED TRACTION WHEN I TRIED TO MANUVER OUT OF HIS WAY ON A COMPLETLEY ICE COVERED STREET, AND WAS ABLE TO TURN ENOUGH SO HE DIDN'T HIT US DIRECTLY IN THE SIDE. OUR CAR WAS TOTALED, BUT WE ALL WALKED AWAY. I'VE SOLD CARS FOR 8 YEARS, AND I THINK FORD HAS LOST US AS A CUSTOMER. ALASKA IS A GREAT TESTING GROUND FOR CARS AND THIS X3 DOES GREAT!!!...read morehide

- Good Fuel Economy, Excellent handling, Very Very Roomy interior, Pretty Stylin!!
- Ride can get a bid rough, Interior design could get more stylin, but don't complain...its great..!!
My girl and I got this car as a loaner and it could not have been at a better time. We were going to move the next day and this car was the greatest thing that could have happened to us. It helped us move so many different boxes and furnitures and we didn't even have to refuel this car throughout our back and forth trips b/w the old house and the new house. It definitely has a lot more interior room than you would think, you would definitely have to test drive this car to get to know how much interior room it actually has. The X3 has great handling, the reason why the interior is not so fancy is because they wanted to give this car that rugged look and feel at the same time. the navigation screen actually pops up on the dash and its very easy to read w/o taking your eyes off the road and the seat warmers come in very handy. The engine has a great feel and sound to it, eventhough we only had the 2.5 liter engine, I definitely recommend the 3.0 liter if you decide to buy it. Any how overall I give this car a 5 star rating as everything in it is pretty well thought out and put together.
Good luck...read morehide

- Handling, Transmission, Looks, and a great world class engine.
- Ride, gas cap doent work properly. Defroster is poor.
Its a great car and handles like sports sedan. My defroster doesnt work properly but the down hill descent mechanism is AWESOME!! I need it living in hilly San Francisco! This car looks great, its not too big, and drives like a dream. But the options will kill your wallet. But I love this BMW. There is a good reason its been selling well....read morehide

- superior handling, great in snow, sports car feel in an suv
- nothing I can see
I traded in my '02 325xi for the X3, couldn't be happier. I was afraid moving to the suv I would lose the sports car handling of the 325, fear unfounded. On the drive up from Denver after picking up the car I was pleasantly surprised with the power and handling on the mountain passes. I live on a small winding road in the middle of the Colorado Rockies seven miles outside of town, this car handles it like it was a 325. I could not be happier with my choice to buy what is obviously one of the best suv buys on the market....read morehide
