I have had my X5 for three months and drove over 5k so far in all kinds of weather, highway and city. I just drove 600 plus miles through mountains, plains and cities, the trip computer recorded fuel economy at 25.5 mpg. My city commute averages 20 mpg but its only a 16 mile round trip and I am heavy on the pedal sometimes. This is a great handling SUV with a true BMW fit, finish and performance. Responsive, quiet and one hell of a vehicle. The iDrive is fantastic and the bluetooth is by far the best I have experienced in any vehicle. I test drove several and just coming back to the X5. If you want to isolated from the road then go buy a Lexus or Mercedes ... you feel the road but don't hear it in the X5. This is a drivers SUV!...read morehide

I recently bought a 2013 Mercedes Benz ML 350...and traded it 2 months later. I bought a BMW X5 in its place. I realize that seems crazy, but that's how much better the X5 is. It comes down to personal preference. If you want a solid vehicle with easy to use options and carefully thought out controls, you will love the X5. Having no issues thus far ( 9k miles); Enjoy every ride of it; low noise level when in motion in cabin area; impressive power; vehicle hugging road in making the ride steady and secure; 3rd low seating useful with only small children; Dealer (peter pan in San Mateo) taking care of cosmetic problems (for example, changing inside top lining and other minor problems) satisfactorily with courtesy car provided....read morehide

this car is terrible. I hate everything about it now, after the hassle i went with BMW . it is not worth anything... I will never buy a BMW. SHould of went across the street and got the M350...better value and better looking interior and exterior.

Traded in my Ranger Rover Sport and couldn't be happier. This is my first X5 and the turbo diesel has incredible acceleration and the performance is awesome. Large quiet cabin even at high speeds. The best blue tooth speaker phone of any vehicle. (No one knows I am on speaker when I use it) This vehicle hugs the road. This is my first X5 and i have to say that it's the best SUV I have ever driven. The clean diesel is definitely a plus for those long drives and everyday city commutes.

I've owned this vehicle for approximately one month. First- time BMW owner (Mercedes Benz owner for 14 years/same car). This is definitely a "smart car" that relatively easy to learn. I love the technology and the ability to integrate my iPhone. The seats are extremely comfortable. Highly recommend getting convenience pkg and tech pkg. Navigation instructions in windshield (neat feature). Expensive, but worth every dollar. I had initially planned to drive my 14 year on Mercedes and only drive BMW X5 on the weekends, but I'm now hooked and love driving daily.
