A Great Grand Touring Machine

by New Bmw Enthusiast from Canada (9/21/08)
Pros:Sleek Design, good handling car, comfortable seats
Cons:I Drive a little complicated

Have been driving this car for the past 7 months and have to say that it is a great vehicle overall. Not that familiar with all of the I Drive attributes but then I haven't really spent much time trying to learn how to program and use all that it offers a driver.

Find it a very comfortable car with very supportive seats. Like a lot of the features including the night vision and heads up display to name a few.

Also don't mind the paddle shifters on the steering wheel and find that I actually use them a fair amount in day to day driving conditions.

The car has plenty of power and great fun on a windy road. Will be interested to see how it performs in winter conditions and have invested in obtaining proper winter tires so am confident that it will do well in colder conditions.

Very happy with decision to buy this car.

by rick from Washington State (8/20/08)
Pros:Great looking car. Lots of features.
Cons:i Drive has steep learning curve.

Actually, once you figure out the iDrive it is a pretty neat system. Getting to that point is a five crecit course. The car looks fanatastic and drives like a dream. I am looking forward to some road trips with this car. I just bought it 3 weeks ago and am very happy with it.

Next Time buy a Lexus

by D H from Tulsa, OK (8/11/08)
Pros:handles great
Cons:had trouble with transmission, took them 2 years 5 trips to service, they had to put in a new trans.

I would not buy this car again, for me it is just not worth the money. The resale is not very good and mine was run into from behind so the resale will be even worse. The service department is not nearly as good as Lexus, it was not detailed when I picked it up and I went back for them to put wheels on it 2 weeks later and they didn't even wipe them down or clean the car when they were finished. I had a problem with the battery and they wouldn't put in a new one till I had to take it out of the service department and then it wouldn't start again (they did send someone to jump it) before they would give me a new battery. It was only a couple months old at the time.

Great car, but DINAN made it excellent

by TOM from DC Metro (7/06/08)
Pros:Excellent trim quality and power, I love the idrive
Cons:Should have come with the DINAN engine upgrades

I bought this car 2 years ago and love it. I did the DINAN engine and suspension upgrades and it transformed it to a sporty GT. I also changed the run flats to 20in performance tires and it rides and handles much better. But can still not beat it out of the box.

Best Sports Coupe

by Alex from Honolulu, HI (6/07/08)
Pros:Stylish, handling, fast, fun to drive, trunk space, and 4 seater
Cons:GPS, parking sensors

Car handels real well, ride is quite and smooth. Very practical everyday sports car. GPS is outdated and there should be a parking camera for this price. I also wish the front parking sensors could detect lower. Although, overall, I would buy this again in a heartbeat. Maybe the M6 next but would be a waste in Hawaii.

An Excellent Car

by Shawn from Colorado (5/17/08)
Pros:Acceleration, Comfort, Looks, Smooth Ride
Cons:Bad Gas Mileage (but that's expected, not exactly a con), Price

I've owned an SL500, which is supposedly the ultimate sports car under 100 grand, and I gotta say, my new 6-series performs much better. I recommend this car to anyone! Buy it used though, new is overpriced and you lose quite a bit when you walk off the car lot.

Worht the wait!

by John from Albany, New York (4/15/08)
Pros:comes very well equiped and has plenty of power
Cons:run flat tires costly, side view mirrors need to be a little larger

I don't understand the complaints about not being able to get four adults in the car, thats not why people buy it! I've had the car about a month and its a blast to drive. Took a 400 mile trip and enjoyed every mile. At 6' 3" I have plenty of leg room. A lot of thought has gone into this car. I drive takes a little getting used to but it grows on you. Looking forward to the warmer weather so I can put the top down. I've waited many years to own a car like this and it wasn't a disapointment - I would buy it again!

The Ice Breaker

by Chris from Fair Lawn, NJ (2/18/08)
Pros:Great look, sporty feel, tight steering, nice torque
Cons:iDrive is almost there, non-sports car breaking

Looked at the Porsche Cayman S as well as the new Audi S5. Though the 6 is more than both, you can't beat the (standard ) technology as well as the speed. The 360 horses propels this car swiftly with just enough decibles from the twin exhausts. The porsche had a great look, but once you price it your looking at a Carrera...the S5 is very rough around the edges plus its brand new. The 6 is established and it feels great. Might trade it in for the new M3 though
