This one's a keeper !

by Scott from Houston, Texas (9/19/08)
Pros:Head turning "what was that" looks, incredible acceleration and ride.
Cons:Fuel Economy, pricy options.

Four weeks under my belt in a fully loaded M3 Coupe, White over Silver with 19" wheels and all the right toys on board, it looks the bizness. I went old school and stuck to manual transmission, couldn't really justify to myself paying a hefty price premium for the double clutch automatic.

iDrive is so easy to use I don't know what all the fuss is about over this system, even my 11 year old had it completely mastered in minutes.

The "Cylinder Symphony" bellowing out of the exhaust makes the stereo system redundant, better than any soundtrack I can think of.

On the downside the car's onboard computer nags me constantly that it's drinking lots of premium gas, even with a light foot. Loading the car with all expected creature comforts is a pricy proposition (like all BMW's).

Fit and finish are excellent so far, this one's a keeper.

Words can't describe this ride

by Ed from Long Beach, CA (9/02/08)
Pros:everything
Cons:MPGs could be better, but hey it's an M3!

This car is awesome! Dual clutch, black on black w/carbon fiber trim, 19" wheels, technology and premium packages. Just finished my 1200 mile break-in period...so now I can really have fun with it. My Buddy calls it a land jet. We'll see how the land jet does on the track though. I'm sure it will be insane.

All i can dream off

by JG from Palm Beach Gardens, FL (8/16/08)
Pros:head turner, amazing aceleration
Cons:very poor fuel economy

The sound of that engine and the downshift exaust pop is amazing.
I got a black, tan interior convertible and the handling and feeling of freedom when the top is down is just worth every penny on this car.
The online reviews will tell you that the convertible is heavy and not as slick as the coupe, but in Florida where everything is straight and flat... is the car to have!!!

2008 BMW M3 with DKG is a rocket

by SSG from New Jersey (7/14/08)
Pros:Excellent road feel and acceleration, double clutch is magical
Cons:none

The new double clutch rocks! I have always insisted on the traditional 6 speed manual transmission, but after researching the double clutch I decided to order mine with it. Shifting speed is very quick/smooth and performance is maximized. This is definitely the wave of the future. Ferrari and Porsche have caught on and are coming out with their versions soon. The M3 ride is very grippy and reassuring. BMW hit it on the nose with the drivers ability to adjust the traction, suspension, and acceleration sensitivity for the driver. This is my third BMW and my first with the Idrive system. It is very easy to navigate unlike all the countless articles I have read. For the money you cannot touch this type of quality and performance. What will they come out with next? I cannot imagine anything getting better than the 2008 BMW M3 coupe with DKG technology.

Very good but $15k more than the amazing 335ci?

by Colt from Greenville, NC (7/11/08)
Pros:Looks, Performance, Sound, Feel, Smell
Cons:Like everyone else, fuel economy, price

I have spent quite some time in a 335ci which feels nearly as fast as the M3 sedan I had a long test drive in. I have recorded a 0-60 of 4.9 seconds with the 335ci. It would not be hard to modify the ECU of the 335 to pump out at least 100 more hp. The M3 had a presence and feel that the 335ci didn't have, but on paper, it doesn't seem as if the M3 is worth $15,000 more than the 335ci. This mixed with painful fuel prices, for my money I would go for the 335ci. If you arn't a recent college graduate with an actual income like myself, treat yourself to the M3, you won't be disappointed.

A Monster with Class

by Afrim Brahimi from Carmel, New York (6/06/08)
Pros:8,400 RPM/Redline, Head turner, decent ride considering it's handeling capabilities.
Cons:Gas guzzler, draws too much attention.(unless you like that)

The second i drove this beast off the lot, i realized i was in something very special and unique. Throttle response is excellent, steering feels firm, yet easy, the ride is a tad bit harsh, but not as bad as one might think. Fit and finish is excellent inside and out. OPT for the upgraded sound system, the stock 10 speakers are ok, but i had a 335i coupe prior to the M3 with the Harman Karden Logic 7, and it blew it away. The M takes twisties like it is on rails, it gives you a sense of confidence that is undescribable. It truly gives credit to BMWs' slogan, "the Ultimate Driving Machine".

BMW's tour de force

by Bob Kelly from Aliso Viejo CA (South OC) (5/26/08)
Pros:Unbelievable engine performance, balanced chassis
Cons:Fuel Economy

Finally had the chance to test drive, good enough for me to order one which I pick up shortly! I have had the chance to check out the MBZ C63, which is also great, but just too rough around the edges.

So, this new car has better performance, better rear seat room, and a tighter steering and brakes than the last M3 (e46) and the 4.0 V8 motor is amazing!!! Can't wait to drop a Supersprint cat-back and Dinan cold air intake to further enhance the exhaust note!!
