2008 Buick Enclave User Reviews
CX AWD shown
- $16,380 - $19,586
- Nice overall Design and ergonomic controls. Easy Nav system, comfortable ride, lots of features.
- Engine and transmission is not a good choice. The sunroof is designed to leak. Pwr lift gate inopX3.
Purchased As New
We bought the car new and were impressed with the overall design. However, the engine needs to be a V-8 or diesel for this heavy of vehicle. On highway trips the car would constantly downshift to pull the car over most hills causing an annoying and uncomfortable jerking as it downshifts to maintain its speed. This was probably why the actual highway fuel economy is around 20 mpg, not 22 - 24 as advertised. It had three transmission programming recalls which didn't seem to help with the shifting problem or MPG change.
We reported a leaking sunroof to a Buick dealer and were told that this is part of the design. There are drainage tubes running down the window side posts to drain the water as it seeps in onto a tray. If the car is parked in an unusual angle I could see this being a bad design. We experienced a clogged tube, which caused damage to the interior side material.
We also had a problem with the rear power lift gate malfunctioning 3 times. It would not open with the Key remote or exterior gate switch.
We had about 25,000 mile on the car and were very happy to get rid of this vehicle. Please be sure to test drive this car thoroughly and ask about these problems.
I personally would not had bought this car if I had read a review like this one....read morehide

- Luxorious, Great Looks, Quiet Ride, Audio System, Spacious
- Pick up is slow, Vehicle is a bit heavy
Buick Enclave is definitely the most beautiful vehicle on the road for its price value. We have owned this vehicle for 4 months now with 6000 miles on it. We enjoyed all our long trips in harsh icy/snow conditions. Our Clave came with 10 Bose Speakers, 6 CD changers, MP3 player, Auxiliary IPod Jack, Dual sunroof, Chrome Wheels, Remote Starter, Leather Seats, heated wiper fluid, Backup sensors, XM, 7 seater and a whole list of luxury options for $35,000 with taxes.
The acceleration is somewhat slows as the vehicle is heavy compared to the competition. Amazingly, the gas mileage is not compromised. All GM skeptics should drive this vehicle before considering Acura MDX, Lexus RX350, Mazda CX9 or even Mercedes ML350....read morehide

- Style, comfort, smooth, classy
- the gas tank is small and its a heavy vehicle so it drains quickly
I love "My Buick"...I call mine "The Clave"...the best vehicle on the road if you ask me...it is definitely a head turner...people stop me all the time and ask me questions about it...it has to be the most stylish classy vehicle on the road in my opinion...i have the white diamond, black leather seats, with the 19" chrome wheels...beautiful...i have no upgrades in it but i am comfortable with the options i have...the onstar with my handsfree phone and the 10 speaker bose system is enough for me...O, AND I LOVE MY DOUBLE SUNROOF...sunroof in the front and skylight roof in the rear...VERY AWESOME RIDE!...read morehide

- No trim specified for this review
- Good, but with this car who cares?
Rented this one in Pittsburg for 4 days. Fabulous, beats Lexus rival hand down! Rear 1/3 and 2/3 fold down seats was an ingenious idea. Long trips in this car would be a luxury. Car had rear view tv when backing up, another grezt feature.

- Gentle, quiet ride. I'm really enjoying this vehicle
- Fuel economy
Our family loves this SUV, we've owned several minivans and other SUV's in the past and we are most pleased with this one. I wish for better gas mileage but what can you expect from a SUV unless it's a hybrid. I tested several vehicles including the Toyota Hylander and Honda Pilot and the Enclave by far has them beat. The interior is so roomy and the ride is smooth as can be. Great pick for our family....read morehide

- Neat Appearance, Clean Lines, Onstar comes standard for one year.
- Can't think of any
We bought our Enclave on Thursday night, picked it up that same night, left for Fallon, NV early Sunday morning. The trip was almost 6000 miles with our side trips. We enjoyed it all the way there and back, don't believe we got any more tired than in the o6 Buick Lucerne that we had. I am the one that wanted an SUV, I love it and I know that when winter gets here again that I will feel a whole lot safer driving it than I did the Lucerne....read morehide

- Luxury, Comfort, passenger capacity, and quiet interior
- Fuel consumption - but its a big car, what do you expect?
I wanted a car that had room for 4 adults and 2 kids. Did a lot of research before buying one. For our needs. compatetors were Acura MDX and Mazda CX9. We preferred Enclave's optional 2nd row to be open (captains seats) for easy access to 3rd row. MDX's 3rd row is a joke (its middle row is also not forward/backward slide-able), while CX9's 3rd row doesn't have an anchor for child seat. Also both MDX and CX9 weren't as comfortable and quiet as Enclave (MDX is better than CX9 though). So far loving it. Its a beauty. Family and friends also love it....read morehide

- Feel, look, ride, performance...everything is great
- I should have gotten one with tv's for my kids.
I have had this car since November and it has been great. This vehicle has been through the rough roads of Baja California, Hwy 1 from Ventura through Mendocino, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe.....and it has been great. Everywhere I have been to, this car has been praised. I love it.

- design, build quality, interior, handling, value, size
The Enclave is the best looking, most luxurious, and most expensive of the Lambda family of crossovers from GM. It is very competitive and should hold their value over time. The only real downside to the Enclave is its weight; at over 5000 pounds it is as heavy as a full size SUV. The weight keeps the excellent V6 and 6-speed transmission from providing outstanding acceleration or fuel economy....read morehide

- ITS HAS ITS OWN CLASS. BEAUTIFUL, ELEGANT MASTERPIECE.
- WE HAVE DRIVEN FOR FEW DAYS AND WE HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THIS CAR..
I TEST DROVE FEW OTHER SUV'S BEFORE WE PURCHASED A BUICK ENCLAVE. AFTER TEST DRIVING TOYOTA 4RUNNER, MAZDA CX-9, GMC ACADIA & VOLVO XC90 WE FOUND THIS CAR THE BEST. IT'S INTERIOR IS DESIGNED LUXURIOUS, ROOMY & 8 SEATER. HAS SUNROOF & MOONROOF. MY WIFE LOVES THIS CAR AND A SUGGESTION TO VIEWERS TEST DRIVE A SUV BEFORE YOU PURCHASE A BUICK ENCLAVE AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE. THE DEALER REP HELPED US AND GAVE US A VERY COMPETITIVE PRICE - GRIENER MOTORS IN VICTORVILLE CA. AWESOME DEALERSHIP. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE DEALER....read morehide
