- Pros
- Great interior, Love the GS button!, very nimble and capable in the snow
- Cons
- could use a litttle more room in the back seat

We love our GS! It has great power and drives like a dream. The ride is smooth and the interior is perfect! The turbo and six speed transmission works flawlessly here in the mountains of Colorado. Snow is no problem.

This is a great car. It looks fresh, has two suspension modes, Six speed manual gearbox and a turbo. What could go wrong? Well, front-wheel drive with 270 hp sucks. When the turbo hits you get wild wheel hop and lose of control, much like an Impala SS. If everyone would learn to drive properly we could enjoy rear-wheel drive again....read morehide

We didn't shop any makes other than GM because we had $1500 cash earned from our GM Visa card. We also considered a Chev Impala and a Buick Verano but we are very satisfied with our choice. This car has way more than meets the eye. The interior comfort is excellent and the leather GM is using is a vast improvement over the grade used in our 2003 Chev Suburban Z71. The seats are firm but not too hard. The car has plenty of pep and if you didn't know it wasn't a 4-cylinder you'd never guess it. It handles quite well with very little body roll through high-speed curves. You can feel its German roots when you drive it and in keeping with European auto's reputations, the fit and finish is also very good, especially for a car in this price range. (ours was $35K and change with Premium Group II with the 18" chrome 7 spoke wheels and a moon roof added) The Harmon Kardon 9-speaker sound system is excellent with a very intuitive user interface, and connecting devices via Bluetooth is easy. The 7" LCD touch screen is bright and crisp. We can't keep our foot out of it so we aren't getting the 18 city mpg that GM touts but that's really our fault. We haven't taken it on any long trips yet but based on how it feels at highway speeds I think it will be a pleasure to drive long distances with producing a lot of driver fatigue. The ride is quite smooth, however you DO feel bumps because this car has more of a sporty suspension. Everyone in our family that has driven it comments on how comfortable and easy it is to drive. Visibilty is good as well. The only quality issue that we have noticed is a sticky rear door handle that doesn't always sping back in, which I'm sure that the dealer will remedy....read morehide

- Pros
- Looks!!!, quality feel and finish, American brand, German engineering, handles like it is on rails
- Cons
- Gas mileage could be better, small side mirrors take some getting used to, not available in AWD

I'll start this review by saying I was dead set on buying an Audi. After EXTENSIVE research (I'm a CPA so I don't do anything without a lot of research first), Audi was my sure purchase. I drove an A4, A6 and an S4 and was just trying to decide which one I wanted. I was torn as I've always been a GM guy and, being a CPA, hated the idea of showing up at clients in a foreign car (Yes, in Detroit, that still matters), but I liked the Audi. Then I drove the Buick Regal GS, almost as an afterthought. I've loved the looks ever since the GS came out and now there's a brand new one sitting in my driveway. Yep, after driving three Audis, I loved the Buick Regal GS so much I purchased it instead.
For starters, the loaded Regal GS had everything I wanted. It's super sporty (especially with the optional 20" wheels with Pirelli's). Although it doesn't have the Audi's AWD, the front wheel drive is more than sufficient to throw you back in your seat when mated with the four cylinder turbo charged engine which delivers almost 300 hp. I got the 6 speed automatic transmission, but you can drive it in manual mode. Unlike many automatics which just have have thumb button to shift, with the GS you actually shift up or down with the gear shift, which feels a lot like driving an actual manual transmission without the clutch. Liking the sports sedan feel, this for me was a better option than getting the manual transmission as I am in traffic a lot.
With the leather interior, sunroof, heated seats, Bluetooth, Harman Kardon audio system, push button start/keyless ignition, navigation, voice recognition, selectable suspension settings (touring, sport and GS), etc. (my car has every option they put on the GS) I picked up a fully loaded Buick Regal GS for $36,350 (before taxes, plates, and a set of wheel locks for the 20" rims). A comparable Audi A4 with the S4 package is going to run you close to $50,000.
Now I still have to pick up a set of snow tires since the 20" rims are equipped with "summer performance tires", but I am still out the door at over $10,000 to $15,000 than a similarly equipped new Audi A4 would have cost.
For luxury, there's no comparison between the A6 and the Buick Regal GS, but for flat out bang for the buck and the "fun to drive" quotient, the Buick Regal GS is the hands down winner over the Audis if you value your money and want to drive a fun ride that turns heads and gets your blood pumping. I've had the car two days and have already been stopped and asked about the car.
In terms of cons, there aren't many that I see so far. The side mirrors seem smaller than those on my 2011 Malibu LTZ and the shape is different, so they take a little getting used to. The car is turbo charged, but unlike the Audi, the dealer has told me that premium is not required. I'll probably run mid-grade to make sure though. There are A LOT of buttons in the center cluster, so it takes some time to figure out what they all do. The gas mileage is listed as 18 city, so I will be interested to see how that plays out. My 4 cylinder Malibu LTZ was only getting 22, so I am not trading off that much to move up in performance and get a car that's more fun to drive. Other than the mirrors and perhaps the gas mileage, there are no solid cons at this point.
Do yourself a favor and buy the Consumer Reports pricing guide on this car. It's $14. Because of it, I saved almost $1,500 on the price of this car over what the dealer was asking.
This car is certainly not your grandpa's Buick, I'm 41 with three kids and my 9 year old thinks it's one of the coolest cars he's ever seen. When I told him it might be the car he learns to drive in, he was over the moon. Yes, the car is that cool. Drive one. You won't be sorry you did and you might even bring one home....read morehide4 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Ride, handling, styling. Not my Uncle's '69 land yacht.
- Cons
- Fuel economy, blind spots.
Purchased As New
9000 miles without a problem. A very comfortable, quiet ride allows you to enjoy the H-K sound system to it's max. The large blind spots on either outside mirror force you to look twice before changing lanes however.

- Pros
- Nice looking design
- Cons
- Bad engine

Car has less than 6,000 miles and already there is something wrong with the engine. Wished they offered the 3.5L V6 or even the 3.6L V6. I don't expect a car with less than 6,000 miles to have a check-engine light come on.

Car is only a month old, so to early to talk about any problems. The ride is awesome, smooth, handles like a race car, power with turbo going it is super fast. All the bells and whistles and people can not believe its a Buick! Definetly not an old persons car.
