Having traded in a Cadillac STS from hell, this car is a dream come true. It doesn't feel small, it has many extras (although a significant cost), and it looks great. There are small annoyances: no indicator light on the garage door opener button (some of use these in the dark), storage nets (instead of a solid pocket) on the back of the front seats, no rain-sense wipers (and this is their top-of-the-line model). GM's color choice is dismal -- nothing distinctive to make one car different from the next -- but I got the brightest red Cadillac made, which isn't bad except that (1) it costs extra and (2) there are lots of bright red CTS's out there. The all-weather floor mats offer good proection, but it makes no sense that they only come in black when other firms offer multiple colors. Back up camera works well. Navigation system exemplary. Haven't had this car out on the highway to test that kind of mileage, but in general driving, mileage is between 14 and 15 mpg -- not any better than the STS I had, and this is a smaller car. Cadillac customer follow-up, both from the company by mail and online and the dealer, has been great. No defects have shown up in the first two months of ownership -- nothing that had to be taken back to the dealer for adjustment. I would buy this again in a moment. With a few minor changes, the car would be perfect....read morehide

I have been a Mercedes and BMW owner for most of the last 30 years. I have avoided US brands for years because their products were not up to the standards of these German brands. Things have changed! I The CTS is GM's serious effort to finally match up to the German cars high standard. As an American, I felt it was important to give OUR car makers a fair chance at my business. I feel it is important that our car industry survive and we have a stake in these companies whether we like it or not. I am not a protectionist, and also have an Audi and Honda, but I am very happy to have found a US brand car worth buying. I hope more Americans want to help our companies or we'll go "down the drain" with them. What kind of cars do most Germans buy, German, what kind of cars do most French buy, French, Italians mostly buy Italian cars and Japanese, Japanese cars, etc so we should at least give our companies a shot at our business. They are finally getting serious....read morehide

I bought one for my wife and ended up using it myself. I have always been a Lexus driver since 1991 and was going to get another LS400 for my wife and we stopped at Arnold Palmer and took the managers model out for a drive and ended up with the car. Rides great. We traded her 2005 CTS in for it and the car has only gotten better. GM has definitely improved and I would recommend this car to anybody wanting a luxury sedan. Why go and pay twice the amount for a Mercedes or a Lexus when the CTS truly surpasses in the way it handles, the mpg, and a luxury ride matched by no other.I am truly happy with this car and plan on getting a sedan for the wife in the upcoming month. JW in Charlotte, NC...read morehide
