You should have the total of all your assets (including the house) or $100,000, whichever is less, in property damage liability coverage. If the total of all your assets (including the house) is more than $300,000, then you should have $300,000 in bodily injury liability insurance AND have umbrella insurance with limits equal to the total of all your assets (including the house).
