Purchased As Used
Bought mine used 4 yr ago with about 15K on it. Did a nice job commuting; 25mpg on the interstate, decent ride. Mine has leather seats - very nice. Performance and response great with the in-line 5 cyl 220 hp engine. Now have 56,000 miles on it. Although not an issue while driving on highways, the turning radius awful - my Chevy Suburban will turn inside the Colorado!...read morehide

- Pros
- Looks good from the outside
- Cons
- cheap interior is cheap, engine disappointing, Chevy still hasn't impressed me
I guess I question if Chevy makes any vehicles worth paying for anymore. The front seats are very uncomfortable and offer no lateral support. My truck has been in the shop four times in 6 months. I traded in my 2002 Dodge Ram quad cab with the 4.7 V8 for this and wish I never would have. The main reason I bought a smaller truck was for better gas mileage but so far haven't had much luck there either. My dodge got around 17/23 mpg and this is getting around 18/24 mpg. I guess Im just unhappy with this truck all-around. If you're thinking about buying one don't bother get a DODGE instead....read morehide

- Pros
- Very good MPG, strong motor and good options available
- Cons
- Horrible turning radius, by far, the worst ever of any vehicle I've owned(27)!
Truck has very nice appearane. I've used it to commute from San Diego to Riverside and gets great MPG, even with a load. Speaker did blow out, but was under warranty. Installed K&N filter and Rhino Liner. Has been trouble free for the 33K miles, except for speakers. The turning radius is horrible. I was driving a Ford E250 full-size van before I bought this truck. It would do 360's inside of this trucks turning radius. Two lane road? Better make a three point turn! I took it back to the dealer to see if something was wrong with it in this aspect. They said it was within factory specs. Don't take this truck downtown or to a parking garage!...read morehide

- Pros
- HiWay MPG better than EPA est so far (26), solid handling + performance
- Cons
- City MPG worse than EPA est, cheap original tires, Traction Control wheel hop
Styling is acceptable for a truck, looks very close to larger silverado from front, there are already many aftermarket parts for dress up, pan on back to replace rear bumper looks awesome as does the SS front bumper and hood. Tonneu cover also makes it look great. I was very surprised that the little I-5 could break the tires loose without any mods. Automatic trans also shifts quickly for a stock trans. The exhaust and air cleaner upgrade seems to have boosted power more than enough to be felt from the drivers seat. The ZQ8 suspension setup handles real well, its not a vette but it's got a nice feel to it, not many factory trucks will handle like this without some serious suspension mods, glad that I did not have to do it myself and worry about alignment issues. Mileage has been great on HiWay, 155 miles @ 75-85 mph and getting consistent 26.1mpg, but only 15 mpg in stop and go driving (maybe just the aggressive starts). Stock alloy wheels also look nice, GM could have sprung for some nicer tires though. Traction control works well but seems to create wheel hop which is a somewhat strange feel. Also feels safe, stops quick and solid....read morehide

- Pros
- Spacious interior room, nice appearance, price
- Cons
- Very wide turning radius, stiff seats
So far I have enjoyed driving this truck. I added the fender flares for a sporty look. This option is not expensive. My biggest complaint is the wider than expected turning radius. My wife has a 2005 Dodge Durango and its turning radius is smaller than the Colorado. Overall the Colorado is a decent mid-size truck. It is good on gas mileage and has a roomy interior....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, smooth ride, roomy
- Cons
- 5 banger doesn't appear to have enough power when loaded on a steep hill
Still curious to see how effective the rear wheel limited slip differential is.
Lawrence Chevrolet has the best service department I have ever used at a dealership. They are friendly and efficient.0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Looks good, rear seat area roomy enough, decent fuel mileage.
- Cons
- The most uncomfortable seats.
I have been shopping for a mid-sized 4-door truck when I test drove the Colorado. I already have a Silverado and love it. I was very disappointed with the Colorado for two reasons. First, you can almost get a full sized Silverado for what they are asking for a Colorado and the front seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in. They are way beyond firm with an odd vertical bulge in the center of the seat back. I couldn't wait to get it back to the dealership. I bought a Dodge Dakota for much less money and found it far more comfortable....read morehide

- Pros
- Sport suspension gives a comfortable ride. Appearance. Space. Options. Price
- Cons
- The interrior does have a plastic look, but who cares? It can be covered or replaced.
Besides vinyl looking cheap. I love everythig else about this truck. I got all the options except the leather seats. WIth the discount and the price I was able to get the extras I wanted and get a good quality truck. Very Solid. THe doors shut with ease. Rides smooth. Quiet as can be. Im sorry to hear about the other reviews and there probs with noise, but thats no reason to pas up ur chance on a good vehicle. I have the 3.5l Crew cab and luv the space. 3rd new chevy truck for me. Never had a problem with any. Alot of confidence in there vehicles....read morehide
