- Good riding little truck.
- No key entry on passenger side.
Purchased As New
I have an 05 Z71 extended cab model with 86k miles on it. I put tires on it at 75k, change the oil regularly (thanks to the dash sensor that tells me to), and drive it all over the place. I haven't had any major problems with it. Chevy recalled a sensor for the tail lights that took about 10 mins to replace and I had a rattle in the passenger side door that turned out to be a loose bolt. I drive it to and from work about 75 miles round trip 5 days a week and fillup once a week.
I don't understand all the negative reviews this truck gets. I have 31 inch tires on it because it was hard to find the ones that Chevy put on it in my area. They run and look great on the truck. It is blue, and I think it is a good looking truck. I didn't pay a whole lot on it when I bought it brand new in Jacksonville, FL. I really have done a lot of driving in this truck and worn the drivers seat, but no other flaws to report on. It has the inline 4 cylinder and it will move when I need it to.
I have used it to tow scrap metal and some fairly large trailers with no issues there. I don't have the full tow package just a ball on the bumper. I limit the trailer and load to about 3500 lbs. The truck will put it fairly well. I have pulled the U-Haul car hauler trailer (without a car) just to return it to the rental place. It pulled it with ease. That trailer alone is about 3500 lbs.
Overall, it is a good truck. I am 5'11" and about 250 lbs and I fit in it with ease. I have had my wife in it and two kids in the extended cab in carseats. I had to move my seat up a little, but we were all able to fit in it. The only con to that is that the car seats sit straight up and it looks a little uncomfortable for the kids. They were still able to take a nap on the long ride though.
