I have had my Chevy Silverado 1500 LT1 6 years now, and it still runs like brand new. Best new vehicle purchase I ever made.

Great ride! Added many OEM which made it a perfect truck. Added Spectre Cold air intake, Flowmaster exhaust, Bully Dog performance and a custom mobile entertainment system. Like I said, perfect truck!

Truck very cheap built to much plastic. unstable towing a boat like the truck strugled to hold it. the fabric on the seat would get damp from moisture of a bottle of water would leave marks or stains on the seats.

- Pros
- Fuel economy, Looks, Features
- Cons
- SQUEAKS/ RATTLES
Great running truck. I have an LT2 texas edition and I love it. Other than some squeaks and rattles coming from the dash area she's performed beautifully pulling my 23 ft wakeboard boat with ease. Could use some more rear cargo area like ford has on the f-150 and an over head storage similar to the f-150 but overall after looking at dodge, ford, and toyota, it was the best value.22 true MPG's and 12-14 while towing aint to shabby. Seats could use some type of captians handles but maybe they'll come out with that soon....read morehide

- Pros
- good fuel with fuel management system on the 5.3
- Cons
- back seat noise
for the past 15 years have owned chevy products, and this is the best, consider the fuel management system its good on gas going down the highway around 80mph i get 28mpg when all 8 cylinders at same speed i get about 17-19mpg my fuel average overall is 22mpg. better than ford or dodge. ford might be the best selling, but poor fuel economy, then again if chevy and gm didnt compete against each other for sales they would probably be the best selling trucks. since technaly they are both the same companys....read morehide

- Pros
- good highway gas milage if not towing
- Cons
- disappointed in towing power, uncomfortable seat causing back/leg prolems, rattles, tire alignment
PROS: I average 20-21 mpg, mostly highway miles.
CONS: 1)Terrible seat design, caused my legs to go numb and back pain. I had never had ANY back problems and figured it out about 1 month after getting this new truck, now I have to use a stadium seat to support my back in truck. I know of at least 2 other people with similar experiences. DO YOU HAVE BACK TROUBLE???CHECK YOUR SEAT SUPPORT!!! 2) The steering column started rattling around 12K miles, my mechanic say he sees this all the time in the new Chevy truck, "DESIGN FLAW", get a new steering column and 10-15K will start again. 3)The tires wear unevenly due to poor alignment. 4)I'm disappointed in the towing power. I have the 5.3L V8, it strains with my 19' camper in the mountains and only gets about 8-10 mpg. I have been driving Chevy and GMC trucks since 1980 and am TRUELY DISAPPOINTED and SADDEN at the thought of buying something other than Chevy or GMC....read morehide2 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Great ride ,lots of power (4.8 lit) very comfortable seating ,looks great (white) nice features .
- Cons
- Sound system could be better, but its not bad
This is my wife's Birthday truck ,but I had the oppurtunity to drive it( Silverado 1500 CC LS ) from the desert floor 200 ft below sea level up to 4180 ft above sea level on I-8 on a trip to San Diego Ca . The truck handled great, especially coming down the steep 6% winding grade 85mph . This truck is awesome , very comfortable , looks great has that head turning ability to onlookers. The sounds systems is a standard single CD player six speakers, it could use some work but overall its not bad. The bottom line is that this the truck is great and my wife is very happy....read morehide

- Pros
- Comfortable, smooth ride for a full size truck. Lots of practical features.
- Cons
- Fuel economy is a little low, but acceptable for 2WD.
I bought my new Silverado about 3 weeks ago, and I have really enjoyed it, especially the ride. The newer year model simply rides smoother than previous years' models. I love all the features mine had for the price. I couldn't get all the features I wanted on other brands of trucks for the same price. Even though my truck is listed as an LT 1 it could almost be an LT 2 package, and it has better features than I could find on other brands equivalent packages and for less money. I really enjoy the redundant stereo and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, the electronic dual climate, the MP3 input jack, compass mirror, On-Star, power driver seat, and the added storage space, as well as the easier to use folding rear seats. Granted the 4.8L V8 engine was a little smaller than I initially wanted, it still gives me plenty of HP and tow capacity as I am a do-it-yourself home owner in suburbia. Maybe in a few years when I can buy some land in the country I'll move up to the 4WD version, but for now this truck fits my needs and lifestyle very well. Plus, Chevy has always built a solid truck that has yet to let me down (my last truck was a Silverado as well). Good job Chevy on making a fantastic truck that is a great value for its price. To buy a similarly equipped Tundra would have cost me an extra $4,000 to $5,000, and I would have to have bought a Ford F-150 Lariat package (also more expensive) to match the features of my LT 1. I definitely will remain loyal to Chevrolet down the road on my next truck purchase....read morehide

- Pros
- good fuel economy both in town and on the highway even pulling a trailer, great looks inside and out
- Cons
- It needs to come with steps to get in
We just love our new Silverado crew cab. It really is a nice truck and rides good, gets good gas mileage but but of all it makes my husbsnd happy. On star came with it for 1 yr. and that also was a plus for on star because not only did that impress us but it gives us a chance to see how that works and can bet hand and help. I am a very heavy person and this silverado has enough room for me to drive and ride comfortable it in even on long trips. Great Truck!!!...read morehide
