2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 2WD User Reviews
Work Truck Short Box shown
- $17,729 - $26,327
- Price and I loved my 05 Silverado
- Body to high off the ground
Purchased As New
If I like this 2010 as good as my 05, I will be completely satisfied. My old truck would get 23MPG on the highway. I did not trade my 106K mile 05, I am handing it down wholesale to my family. The new truck appeared much bigger at a glance, but when parked side by side, virtually the same size. I did notice the new truck sitting higher off the ground, harder to get into, especially for small folk, and my mom. It appeared to have more ground clearance....the body does, but not the frame. GM has raised the new body higher off the frame, giving it the appearance of more clearance, but when you squat down, look under the trucks, frame is very visible on new truck, but hidden on the 05. Even trailer hitch is 2.5 inches higher on the new truck. I see no reason for the elevation, but not really an issue for me and looks more off roadish.
I have a first generation GM credit card. It allows you to build up as much as $3,500 over a seven year period to apply toward the purchase, of a new vehicle, which I have 5 times since the cards incepction, which makes the purchase more palatable.
New truck has the 6 speed trans. I am not an agressive driver, sometimes, at slow speeds, truck does not seem to know where I am going with accelleration, and is slow about deciding which gear to select. But this is not a problem if MPG is improved.
MSRP of my new truck $32,700. With discounts and GM card, I purchased, for 24,100 including taxes on the road, great deal on the close out model....read morehide

I have had this truck for about a week now. I bought the XFE Model. I got a pretty good deal. I traded in my 05 Dodge Ram that I have had for about 4 years. I must say that I never thought I would be a Chevy guy, but I love this truck. It looks great, and they have really improved their interior from previous years. GM finally got it right. I didn't want to get another Ram becuase they were expensive and didn't have the crew cab option in my price range. This Chevy has plenty of room. The ride quality is pretty damn good. It is much smoother and stiffer than my Ram. I felt every single little bump in my Ram. The only issues so far, are that it does eat the gas. It might be a fuel safing vehicle, but it does average about 18 mpg. but of course i've only had it a week, and the engine isn't broken in yet. I would recommend this truck to anyone. I looked at the new Dodge, Ford, and Toyota. They were all nice trucks, but you get more with the Chevy. I got Sat radio, onstar, blue tooth hands free calling on the steering wheel, and lots of storage. It even has a usb port for my Iphone. The other trucks would have cost me about 8K more to get all of that stuff. Overall great truck and would recommend it to anyone....read morehide

I should have bought this sooner, but was reluctant to purchase due to economic times and the future of America's finances. I finally made the plunge and brother, I am so happy. I bought the Texas Edition which has a little more chrome in the right places, and got an upgraded interior package. Got the back-up camera, the navigation system, XM, bluetooth, On-Star. Dual a/c adjustments, I like it cool, the better half likes it warmer. No problems now. The leather bucket seat are very comfortable, I have a lumbar spine problem and had a knee replacement done, this truck rides so well, and sooo comfortable. Not all stoved up from stiffness after sittin a few hours.
I haven't towed anything yet, but have the upgraded towing package and getting itchy feet wanting to tow my boat. That will be fun. I have driven previous years (68, 72, 85, 87, 02, and now a 2010) and they all met my needs as far as towing and handling.
Something about this truck sure makes the heads turn, and the compliments are very numerous, from guys and gals, from teens to the seniors, it has made me confident that I made the right choice. After all, it's a Chevy Truck! Sorry Ford, Dodge, Toyota, you just don't have that swagger like Chevy does.
This is kind of truck that makes you want to "Play Hookey" and call in sick and sneak a fishin trip in....read morehide
