- Body to high off the ground
Purchased As New
If I like this 2010 as good as my 05, I will be completely satisfied. My old truck would get 23MPG on the highway. I did not trade my 106K mile 05, I am handing it down wholesale to my family. The new truck appeared much bigger at a glance, but when parked side by side, virtually the same size. I did notice the new truck sitting higher off the ground, harder to get into, especially for small folk, and my mom. It appeared to have more ground clearance....the body does, but not the frame. GM has raised the new body higher off the frame, giving it the appearance of more clearance, but when you squat down, look under the trucks, frame is very visible on new truck, but hidden on the 05. Even trailer hitch is 2.5 inches higher on the new truck. I see no reason for the elevation, but not really an issue for me and looks more off roadish.
I have a first generation GM credit card. It allows you to build up as much as $3,500 over a seven year period to apply toward the purchase, of a new vehicle, which I have 5 times since the cards incepction, which makes the purchase more palatable.
New truck has the 6 speed trans. I am not an agressive driver, sometimes, at slow speeds, truck does not seem to know where I am going with accelleration, and is slow about deciding which gear to select. But this is not a problem if MPG is improved.
MSRP of my new truck $32,700. With discounts and GM card, I purchased, for 24,100 including taxes on the road, great deal on the close out model.
