2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4WD
There are 9 user reviews for the LT1 Short Box trim shown below
- Excellent Interior and well as outside appearance.
- Miles per gallon could be better. Large blind spot on the sides of the vehicle.
Purchased As Used
Great truck with no major issues. Engine puts out enough power to do whatever you need. Even with a lift added the ride was still as smooth as a stock vehicle. Easily accessable buttons everywhere in the vehicle to include the steering wheel. Would not trade it for anything else for a few years.

- Great ride, Great gas mileage
- Fog lamps don't automatically turn on
Just bought the 07 LT1 Z71 4X4 crew cab two weeks ago. This is the first new vehicle I've owned in 14 years and to say I am pleased is an understatement. The 5.3 litre motor has more than enough power and torque. I was concerned about reports of transmission noise but I have not found this in my truck. My first trip on the interstate turned 20 MPG. I get 16MPG around town. I was lucky to get 16MPG in my Dakota on the highway. I have an enormous amount of room inside the truck. Plenty of room for my 2 year old and 100 lbs Chesapeake Bay Retriever. (Once the cap gets put on the dog will ride in the bed.) The ride is smooth, hadling is crisp. The seats are comfortable and there is zero road noise. Over all, I'm very satisfied with this truck and look for it to last me at least ten years. My only complaint is you have to turn the foglamps on every time you start the truck. I would prefer a setting that would keep them on continually unless I choose to shut them off....read morehide

- Ride, comfort, style, power
- Fuel mileage, too low to the ground.
I just traded in my 2005 Chevy silverado duramax diesel. Truck was lifted with $12,000 in aftermarkets. Extremely powerful truck. I traded in on my 2007 Chevy silverado LT1 crew cab 6.0 vortex max. I have only 284 miles on the truck but I think I made a smart choice.
The ride is excellent on this truck! It is so smooth and the 6.0 vortec max is the way to go. I test drove the 5.3 and could tell night and day difference between the 5.3 and the 6.0. I almost didnt buy the 6.0 because the truck I looked at had the 4:10 gear ratio. Fuel mileage would suck. It looks like Im going to be at 14.5 on my first tank. I heard horror reports of 10.2-12.0. Im sure you will get that if you cant control you right foot but with occasional romping on it I would estimate a 13.5 MPG. If your going to buy a full size truck you are not getting it for fuel mileage. Now this truck is nowhere near as powerful as my Duramax but it has plenty of power and is extremely more driveable. If you are in the situation I was in just 3 days ago, then do it!
The only downfall is it only has the 4 speed auto. But the new 6 speed just came out and wont be offered for 2 more years in the silverado. I have personally talked to people who have had problems with the new tranny. Give them the two years and the bugs will be worked out. Which is fine with me cause my truck has the active fuel management which will switch it from running from a V-8 to a V-4.
Hey bottom line is this truck is not perfect but nothing in life is. This is the best all round truck out of the 8 I have owned in the last 6 years....read morehide

We love our new 2007 Silverado. We have 3 small boys and the Crew Cab is large enough to accomodate the entire family. There is nothing like a Chevy Silverado, I wouldn't buy any other truck. This is a smooth riding truck, and although the gas mileage is only around 17 mpg, I can live with it considering the luxury of this truck....read morehide

- Plenty of power, very comfortable, great gas mileage for a 4x4, smooth as silk ride
- Not sure if it is a con, but the shift is a little hard from 1st to 2nd
I just bought the 6.0 vortec max crew cab and have had it for 1 week. 500 miles showing currently. I traded in my 03 2500HD with the 8.1 and Allison. My 03 had a lot more torque which I loved, but I hated stopping at every gas station. The new truck rides 100% better. The fit and finish are excellent. The dash layout is well thought out and user friendly. The displacement on demand is, in my opinion, the biggest advance in automotive engine technology since fuel injection. It really improves gas mileage. The truck looks great (Blue Granite, Z71, Ebony Interior, factory nerf bars and chrome door handles). The rear park assist dinging is not annoying like in my in-laws F-150. There is plenty of room for large people in the back seat. Lots of storage everywhere. Just one thing may end up annoying me - at this point I'm not sure how I feel about it - with the heavier duty transmission, during the shift from 1st to 2nd, the truck jumps a little, almost like it has a shift kit. Not as smooth as my Envoy. Of course, it's a truck not a Mercedes, so I might just end up liking the aggressiveness of it. Overall, I have no legitimate gripes, this truck is outstanding, GM has really outdone themselves and raised the bar significantly for all manufacturers....read morehide

- Better ride than previous model, nice interior styling, good power.
- Not macho enough on the styling. GMC looks a little better in my opinion.
I owned an '03 before this one, and the refinements on this model are abound. Comfortable and good handling. I was a little disappointed with the styling Chevy went with. It's not bad(quirky), but it's no Dodge Ram. Overall, i'd rate it 4 stars.

- good mpg and power
- clunking noise from 2nd to 3rd gear
i have the same clunking noise as another owners review. I brought it into the dealer with 1000 miles on truck, gm responded back as a normal condition of the tranny. its a temporary reversal of the torque converter, although it sounds more like it comes from the rear end. truck now has 5000 and nothing has changed. very annoying because now I listen for it to happen which is every time and i mean every time it shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear. i have owned several trucks and this has never happened, how could gm think this is normal? this should of been one of those things caught and fixed before it was let out to the public...read morehide
