2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 4WD
There are 6 user reviews for the LT2 Short Box trim shown below
- decent power, tight ride, looks, roomy interior, OnStar, SUPER 4X4 capability, remote start
- seen better for towing, lint on cloth seats, ft end hops over speed bumps
Have owned 4X4s all life, GM & Ford and use them for towing trailers and many hunting trips in mud and snow. Own a current Z71 '08 crew cab LT2. Not really that impressed with towing ability, but has gotten the job done on light to medium loads. On a hunt trip 1 day after I bought it, took it down a true "Jeep Trail" with steep grades, deep ditches, and uneven angles on stock suspension and tires....this truck was magnificent! The 4X4 low was strong. I would never take it on a 4X4 road like that again, but it is NICE to know this truck can get in and out of a tough road.
Transmission can shift funny sometimes and depending on what gear you are in, the kick down gear varies on power sometimes..kind of odd.
Cloth seats do collect a lot of lint/hair and stuff like that. Overall, good truck, drives like a car, very smooth ride. At higher speeds, there is more wind noise or noise period, while driving. GM could do better to limit road noise. INstrument panel and information is terrific along with the OnStar and hands free calling....read morehide

- quiet, rides great for a 4x4
- poor fuel economy 15 to 16 hwy observed over 19,000 miles, everything sticks to cloth seats
have drove gm my whole life, had 8 new chevy, gmc pickups, this is the worst i have had, fuel economy is horrible, several friends bought same truck same time i did and over 19000 miles our average for 5 trucks 4x4 crew cabs half ton with 5.3 motor automatic was 15.8! this is 5 trucks with almost 20000 miles. the active fuel managment system makes you beleive this thing will run in 4 cyl mode on hwy, but i guarantee you unless you are going down slight decline or slowly loosting speed, at 65 or 70 mph it WILL NOT stay in 4 cyl mode. this gimmick gm has come up with is a joke. MY 04 would get 18 avg all the time, same rigged truck. I know the other companies have problems too and i would probably by other gm cause the other guys get 13 to 15 mpg so i guess it aint all bad....read morehide

- Z71 1 touch 4x4 is Awesome! Remote Start, looks great, powerful, GPS, Onstar is great!
- Cloth seats pick up all lint, no cargo compartments under backseats, heated wipers don't really work
I absolutely love this truck!! Previously owned Z71 Suburban, but now prefer crew cab. Options for this truck are excellent: Rear DVD entertainment is great, kids can watch 2 different movies at the same time, side airbags, gives you tons of neat info like avg miles per gallon, tire pressure, customize everything from when your doors lock to exit lighting, radio sounds loud and clear, onstar can download directions to your truck and display them on radio display. For this big truck, parking sensors are great, along with 1 touch folding sideview mirrors for those tight parking spaces. I really love onstar, you can call them for almost anything! This is the only 4x4 you can tow behind you and not put any miles! Mileage is not the greatest, but you don't buy a 4x4 for the gas mileage!...read morehide

- Great fuel mileage, great ride, nice interior looks
- Seats pick up lint, price
Truck has 8000 miles on it and was averaging 19.4 mpg highway-gotten better every oil change, I installed a K&N FIPK intake and now getting 22.8 mpg avg. Options are plentiful with this truck. The new 5.3L engine way better than previous with Cylinder Deactivation. I'm going to be installing a Magnaflow cat back exhaust system, Hypertech E-Con programmer, and fiberglass tonneu cover and won't be suprised when I get around 26-28 mpg avg. highway miles. I love this TRUCK!!!...read morehide

- On the first 5500 miles it has averaged 18.4. It rides and drives wonderful.
- Cloth seats have a tendency to pick up lint, etc.
Had an 06 5.4 Ford 150. The gas mileage and power were so sad; so decided to try a Chevrolet. It has be a great change. It has plenty
of snap and gets decent mileage for a four wheel drive. Love the
remote start feature in the winter and it is much easier to get in and
out of than the Ford. The DOD works extremely well with no hesitations. Good truck....read morehide
