- Pros
- Great power, looks, numberous features
- Cons
- I wish it was a couple inches more ground clearance
Purchased As New
My last Chevy was a 2000 2WD Ext Cab. I wanted a 4WD. I got everything I wanted less the leather. It rides smooth. I would have preferred a more aggressive offroad worthy tire, but that is more of a personal interest for off roading. Decent gas mileage. I probably keep this one as long as my last one if not longer....read morehide

- Cons
- Transmission does not do what operator wants

I really can't do a full review on this. I was not able to use the 4WD. Mileage was about 20mpg. It is a smooth riding truck. I don't think there is a lot of ground clearance for the serious off road people, but that is why there is aftermarket stuff. Up front there is lots of room, comfortable seats and everything is within reach. The radio is almost to far away, but was not uncomfortable to reach for. I am sure I had the 5.3L and 6 speed trans. shifting was smooth, and the manual option has push up and down on the lever. You can shift to any gear at any time, but it will not down shift until correct speed. good safety, but when wanting to stay in 1st gear, computer will automatically shift to 2nd. The tow haul mode only uses 4 gears, so say good buy to you mileage, but it does down shift sooner while breaking....read morehide

- Pros
- Active fuel Mgt. Flex Fuel, Chevy
- Cons
- Tires not appropriate for Z71
Purchased As New
This Truck is great. The features are all usefull and the active fuel management with flex fuel provided in the performance power package means I recieve 24 MPG on the freeway. This is BETTER than my wifes old intrepid or my ford ranger ever got. Go GM

- Pros
- Smooth and quiet ride for a 4WD
- Cons
- Disappointed with "active fuel management" gas mileage
Purchased As New
This 2009 Silverado rides much smoother and quieter that my 2000 Silverado that I traded. So far, for 1100 miles, I'm very satisfied. It's a good, solid truck. It's nice that the rear windows lower completely in the extended cab. I'm am disappointed with the gas mileage for the 5.3L w/ active fuel management. It doesn't seem to be any better than my 2000 Silverado 's 5.3L with same transmission and axle ratio....read morehide

My 2009 Silverado I bought brand new with 3 miles on it in May of 2009 I had a 2002 Silverado before that and i really liked my 02 but after driving this new one i couldnt drive the 02. It has the 5.3l and it runs great!!! With the z85 package the ride of the truck is so smooth it feels like your riding in a car i would recomend the new Chevy Silverado to anyone looking to buy a Truck....read morehide

- Pros
- a good balance of power, love the style of the pickup, very good ride
- Cons
- doesn't have some of the features of my old truck
Purchased As New
I traded in my 2004 Chevy Silverado Z71 for an 09 Chevy Z71 and I am glad I did, the ride is much better, the interior is much more roomy and comfortable, and with its E85 and fuel management system you get some decent gas mileage, could be better though, but excellent for a truck....This is a well balanced truck and I am very happy with it, with this truck you can't go wrong, I had various problems with my 2004 and the reliability was an issue but with this truck I have had no problems with it and I don't really see any in the future...Chevy has always had a very good pickup and this truck reinforces that statement, you can't go wrong with this truck....read morehide
