I bought this truck because it was the cheapest truck you can buy and nearly the cheapest car. It was the one they were advertising for $12,388 on T.V. - The price breakdown went like this:
Sticker Price $20,100.00
Chevy Discounts -$6500.00
The remainder of the advertised price delta is for being a first-time buyer, and being in the military. So they would not budge from $13,600. Out the door, it was $14,849, so $1300 for tag, tax, license
The truck has the 4.3 liter which is basically 3/4 of an LS-1 engine, like the LS-1 it makes it's torque very quickly, at 2800rpm and has similar torque numbers as the small V-8. It also is rated at 21mpg on the highway, but it is more like 25mpg, and 19mpg-20mpg in town.
I love it because it is good for someone who is 5ft 7inches tall. It comes with Air and tilt wheel, 5-speed, good am/fm unti (just add cd changer), and it has full instrument display.
My is exactly like the gray one in the photo. Just stick to your guns when buying this truck, there is not alot of margin in the price so they try to sell you extended warranties, paint protection, and every other un-needed feature you can imagine, so buying this truck took longer than I care to hang out, about 4 hours. It was worth it though, it is an awesome vehicle for $15k delivered.
