- Good Looks and decent ride in front seat. I had F 250 for 4 years and miss it honestly.
- RATTLE in steering column, BAD limited room in back seat, poor fuel economy
I owned a F 250 ford diesel for 5 years and to be honest my Chevrolet does not measure up to the ride, performance or power of the Ford. I have only owned one Ford product in my life but am disappointed in the Chev. The rattle in the steering column drives me nuts! They tell me there is nothing they can do to fix it. Back seat is cramped compared to others and very uncomfortable on long trips. I drive 60,000 miles per year with the same 3 man crew I hauled in the Ford and none of them like the Chev ride. If I could trade it tomorrow for a Ford or a Nissan it would be GONE!...read morehide

- Great Fueel Economy when towing heavy loads, Great low end torque.
- Occasionaly you notice a rattle in the steering column.
We've owned our Silverado 2500HD for about 2 years now. We have had nothing but great luck with this truck. The Vehichle is our family's primary family vehichle as well as work ready farm truck. The truck is driven every day in town averagin about 16MPG, in town and on the free-way we have reached up to 22.3MPG running clean. Hang a 7000 pound trailer on the back and you will average around 16.5MPG. GREAT MILEAGE! Also, the optional Duramax is a must for the American farmer or worker needing heavy towing/hauling capability with good MPG to save money at the pumps. The Locking rear Diff. is a must if you plan to off-road with it much. The truck is so heavy it wants to sink in slick surface and the Duramax is so powerful it spins out bad. The bed is down where you can reach over it and use it as opposed to the Ford F-series trucks. The only con to this vehichle is a rattling in the steering column. This is what resulted from a government required change in the steering shaft. Nothing we can do about that. No complaints with this truck. If you want power, effecietsy, and budget gas mileage, for the type of work you'll be doing than there's no doubts. This truck is the one for you. Great Job GM!...read morehide

- Can pull the skid steer and go to town. Great ride for a 4x4
- a diesel should get 20+ mpg this doesn't
This truck has all the creature comforts and is more refined than the other two (Ford & Dodge). It is a true pick up (most 1/2 tons are beefed up cars) and I can pull four horses up the hill from Atlanta to Chattanooga, TN with no problem. I also can go into town and not feel out of place at the Fox or High Museum. This truck has strong brakes, a great ride and good room in the cab. The power sun roof is a step back from the unit I had in my Tahoe (must open all the way or tilt). A truck costing 50K should have a better radio (good for a truck not good for a 50K car) needs Bluetooth, GPS, and Onstar built in one unit (BMW sends information from the car to the dealership for reminders to you on when you need maintence WHY NOT IN MY TRUCK). GM is on the road to building a great truck (much better than the other two) it could be on the road to building the best vehicle in the world with a more focused management....read morehide
