2005 Chevrolet Aveo

- Good fuel economy (About 30/gallon). Comfortable ride. Handles the road well.
- The stick shift is a little finicky but not a problem.
I'd been considering buying a new car for some time and when my pick-up broke down I finally sat down and did the research. After test driving a 2005 SV Aveo I was hooked.
It's extremely roomy (!!!), hugs the road much better than I'd anticipated and does pretty well at the pump (Although not as well as I'd hoped. But that may have to do with how and where I drive). Great for a college student, someone on a budget and/or a person who may need to transport quite a bit of gear or people (i.e. Musicians and Moms).
My only complaints are that the Stick shift is a little too finicky when shifting into reverse, but I've been told by a mechanic that works for Ford that stick shift quirks are not uncommon in the Low cost compact cars. My other complaint is that you cannot lock the driver side door except by putting your key in the lock and locking it. It isn't a big deal but it is a tad annoying.
I know that I spent much more time on the bad than the good but much of what I like can be found in other reviews. As with anything you take the good with the bad. I am very happy that I purchased my Aveo and encourage others to give it a chance. Have a good day....read morehide

- drives smoothly @ 70mph, decent fuel economy, good leg room-
- Rather small,
I had an 04' Toyota Corolla before the AVEO and by far the Corolla beats the AVEO, the body could be a little bigger-I've had my AVEO for 2 months bought it for the price- At times I don't feel too secure/safe in the AVEO because of the size. Seems more like a 2 passenger front seat car . Would not recommend for a family vehicle. The body style still has to grow on me the bumper looks like a marshmallow.Have had no problems with the way the AVEO drives. I would'nt by another....read morehide

- Great Fuel economy-I can travel 230 miles and only use 6.5 gal. of gas, driving 80mph.
- Hard seats, can be rectified with travel pillow behind back.
Fun to drive, pleasing to look at, no mechanical problems in six months of ownership and 9,000 miles later. Comfort issues can be overcome with a liitle creativity, like an excellant stereo system to overshadow the road noise, cushioned seat covers, etc. We have a 5-speed, we love it!! For the money, it's worth every penny.......read morehide
