- Fuel Economy, Performance, Reliablity
- Doesn't have as tight a turning arc or fuel capacity as my '93 Cavalier
I was given a brand new 2004 as my first ever new car almost two years ago with only 9 miles on the odometer. 61,000 plus miles later, it's still good! Yes you read the mileage right, I commuted between 75-86 miles, ONE WAY for work, throw in vacations, joy rides, and visits to my parents who live 90 minutes away and the miles add up, fast! The only thing I had to replace were my front brake pads. I average between 34-38 mpg highway (90% of my driving was turnpike/expressway) so no stop/go traffic and the engine still acts like new. What I miss from my old 1993 Cavalier is the 16 gallon tank which added an additional 250 miles to my max. range and the tighter turning arc for cornering or turn arounds. If you over maintain your Cav like I do change the oil as soon as it is dirty like at 1500 miles, extra engine additives to further reduce friction, and premium fuel (although it's more expensive) you will save a ton on repair/maintenance costs and perserve your investment!...read morehide

- Great fuel economy, good stereo system, smooth ride, sporty looks
I have a 5-speed 2003 Cavalier coupe. This is my second Cavalier (my first was a 98 sedan) and i've loved both of them. They're great on gas (35-40mpg) and have minimal repairs. I never had to make a repair on my first cavalier and i've put 33k miles on my '03 cavalier in the past year and have only needed new tires. This car runs excellent. The new Eco-tec engine runs smoothly and quietly. This car is not exceptionally fast or anything, but as an everyday commuter, you cannot beat it for the money. I drive over 100 miles a day and find the car comfotable and easy to handle. This car also handles surprisingly well in the snow. I would recommend getting the five speed over the automatic if you have a choice, I think the five speed is much more enjoyable to drive and handles much better than the automatic. I would definately recommend buying a cavalier, and if chevy would have continued making them after 2005, I would have definately bought a new one after my '03....read morehide

- fuel economy, little else...
- Cheap interior, poor sound system. loud motor, ride. Small backseats, ugly.
Should have paid the extra 2 grand for the Cobalt.... went with the 05 cavalier instead. Major step down from the 99 Malibu i had. Not happy.. hopefully its reliable.

- fun to drive, smooth, little road noise
- sometimes idles high, won't come of out gear
This is my first car and I am really happy with it. It's sporty looking and fun to drive. It's good on gas and gives a good ride. My only complaint is that on several occasions I have shifted from gear into neutral (it's a standard transmission) and it kept revving really high like it wouldn't come out of gear. Otherwise, a great car!...read morehide

- great fuel economy, sporty looks, fun to drive, easy to own
This is my eleventh car, I love it. It is one of the best I've ever owned. I've had two Dodge/Plymouth Neons, but this Cavalier is far better, it's more solid, not as buzzy, and has better pick-up. I love the fact that it rides kinda low, makes it feel even more sporty. It's great on gas and in the snow. Mine is Rally Yellow with black tinted windows, it looks beautiful. The only problem that I have is that cops tend to notice me more than anyone else, I think they're waiting for me to speed. I love my Cavalier, I wish General Motors would keep it around. It's a name that has been around for 2 decades. Kudos to GM for mine....read morehide
