- ride can be a bit tough when hit from pot holes

First of all this car can rip. I don't really like to race (especially around Cali since cops are trashing racer's cars). Yes this car does work with the No-lift Shift feature and it amazes, and this car can get 60mph in 5 sec. and, if you drive right, you can get a good MPG rate for the car (GM claims 22/30). Also, since this is a 5spd MT, you can do what you like in the car, in other words you can get a better MPG on the car, if you drive like my grandfather. Fill up your tank when it's halfways empty and you pay about $20 at Chevron (remember i live in Cali so gas gets a bit high over here).
The car comes equipped with a 6 CD changer, which plays mp3 CD's, and a Pioneer sound system. It does sound good but alas it sounds like it needs a lil help from a amp.
The car's quality feels very good on the seats and through out the car. The seats on the other hand are not that bad. i find the car comfortable, and holds you in tightly when your making those turns, but for other people they might be uncomfortable from their lower back. Its the kind of thing you have to go check out yourself.
The dash might feel like plastic, but at least the car isn't like the Dodge Caliber's feel (the thing feels like you are in plastic on wheels, not good). The very safe car comes also with air bags and curtain side airbags.
I asked a mechanic from Chevy if they ever had anything wrong with the past cars like this, (from electric wise, due to many complaints from Chevy from the past, to mechanical) they said no. They have had one car that had something wrong electrically, but that's about it.
Nice price too. I got mine at the Red Tag Sale event for $22,000 and final price was $23,000.
BTW now the SS turbo's come with 4 door for 2009, very nice. Give the car a try.
I'm lovin' the sound of that turbo though...Oh yeah about the turbo it does not have a BlowOff Valve, to blow the air out, instead it has a valve to blow the air in,(i forgot the name... compressor bypass valve (CBV)?) that means it'll be longer to replace the CBV(?) and you get better performance. It's up to you to change it to a BOV but you will loose performance....read morehide

- Performance v. Economy
- Body Trim and Styling But Nothing $2,200 and a 2 Coat w Maaco w Viper Stripes Couldn't Cure
We drove a friend's brand new Turbo version of the Cobalt SS, and our 2006 with the Stage 2 Chevy upgrade w/Catback exhausts was faster, but not by much. I believe changing to the catbacks, if they'd work with this turbo version, would be advisable, it would beef up the horses to 300 with the weight/power distribution and a much lighter exhaust system.
As far as the exterior, simply take it to Maaco and have them two coat it with the same color and add a black viper style fat stripe that drips off the bottom molding of the front below the bumper, same in the back. For those who'd like a little more style.
We got sideways in our turbocharged version, and I know after we sold the car the person Stage 3 converted to a nitrous feed and he said it can take a stock Vette on the highway. Vroom. Of course, 4 cylindars are not known for their 1/4 mile times so advantage V-8 for the corner to corner stuff....read morehide

- Great performance and handling with very good gas mileage for the performance.
- Back seat is small and difficult to enter /exit
A turbo charged 260hp 4 cylinder with 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds, 14 second 1/4 mile,.92 on the skidpad and 22/30 EPA gas mileage. Seats are comfortable and well supported for spirited driving. The 2008 Cobalt SS is getting rave reviews from all the car magazines.

- Great fuel economy, 0-60 in 5.5, launch control and no lift shift great fun.
- Features list short
Great little car with great performance, almost no turbo lag. Great sleeper car for the occasional drag run. Good dealership experience. traded my 2006 Acura RSX type-s, and this car is much much better in handling, performance, and comfort.

fast and still gets good mileage, looks sporty, comparable to the SRT4 Neon. Price is ok too.
