- Sturdy, Cheap and Powerful.

A friend of mine became my chauffeur for quite some time and I must say that I was impressed with the car. There's not a single rattle in it, unlike most of its competition, its sturdy, also unlike most of its competition and the gas mileage leaves nothing to complain about. If I didn't have 80,000 to spend on a car, I'd consider one of these.
It has the gas mileage of a compact car, but it doesn't feel like one....read morehide

- Fuel Economy & Performance
- Fit and Finish is poor
Purchased As New
Really fun car to drive. Faster than most people realize. Fit and finish is horrible: bumpers misaligned, trim pieces don't fit together perfectly, headliner is just cut cloth across the front and rear windshields that frays because it's not covered by trim or tucked into anything, many rattles present. Excellent stereo, many nice electronic features, seats are comfortable and hold you in place. Transmission and steering are first rate. Great brakes. When you pin the throttle, you don't care about the other let downs. Otherwise though, those things really detract from this car. That said, this car is fun to drive. That was the most important criteria for me. I just wish the fit and finish were even up to KIA standards....read morehide

- Excellent handling and power
- Spoiler blocks vision, brakes squeal occasionally and the subwoofer could use a little more umph!
Purchased As New
This is my first new car - a 2008 turbo SS coupe. Essentially, the car outclasses everything in its price range. The brakes are perfectly linear and confidence inspiring, while the engine will set you back in your seat and force your lips into a maniacal smile. The car handles and turns with confidence while keeping you in control and comfort.
I have had coupes with V8 engines that would have been spanked if they tangled with the Cobalt. Two hundred and sixty horsepower - its worth spelling it out.
I don't know why there isn't a better advertising campaign for this car. I get 30 mpg on the highway and can outrun anything I come across that costs less than 30 thousand dollars. With over 10,000 miles so far, the only real complaint is that my brakes (Brembo, by the way) sometimes squealed under low speed and light pressure. I fixed that.
If you are going to buy a new economy car, get the turbo Cobalt!...read morehide

- GREAT POWER, SUPER HANDLING, GOOD GAS MILEAGE
- TORQUE STEERING, LOOKS ORDINARY
A great car to drive. Very fast with plenty of acceleration. I had the aero wing changed to a lower spoiler because I couldn't see anything behind me. The brakes are amazing. It looks slow, but this can be a good thing because cops won't quickly target you. My 2008 Mustang GT is more fun to drive, but not by much. A true bargain that GM is currently offering about $2500 off the already low price this holiday season....read morehide

Well the first time I drove this vehicle it caught me by surprise. It was faster then it looks 260 hp on a car that small makes a big difference. Not to mention it looks great and the handling is great too.

- accelration, smoother shifting, road handling
- spoiler, last year of cobalt 2009
Test drove this about a week ago and for the money hard to beat. My son has a 2007 and this is more refined and shifts much smoother than any other year model I have driven. Will be considering one for myself later this year. The saleperson fogot to mention the bluetooth feature for cell phone users. Wheel rims and seats also better than 2007. Best cobalt SS to date....read morehide
