Purchased As New
Purchased car in August of 2011. Since one month after owning car, the problems began. When starting the car, it has to struggle to start on a cold start. Dealer said they corrected this but still occurs. Poor shifting automatic transmission; it doesn't know what gear to be in. Doesn't not, how could it not, cruise well. This car always downshifts when foot off the gas pedal. I've drove cars, 4-cylinder cars included, that knew how to cruise very well. Anemic 4-cylinder engine. Maybe that is why the transmission is always changing gears. When the cooler temperatures arrived I used the heater, only to find out that there exists the smell of engine coolant diffusing when using the heater. This really bugs me. Informed Chevy dealer but even they could not find a problem nor solution to this smell. Windshield wiper mister malfunctioned, it did not spray fluid to clean the windshield. Low tire was always detected in the winter months; perhaps had a slow leak. Anchor of rubber mat broke, and I rarely had a front passenger. Now since the spring began the right rotors have a distinctive squeaky sound when driving. Internal display of outside temperature is always overly compensated. A plus is the car gets a decent high mpg, average 30. However there are larger cars that can achieve this number or better. I tried to like this car so much, but it just didn't meet expectations of being without mechanical issues, roomy and satisfied. Be warned a Cruze looks stunning, however issues could occur. Could I recommend this car, a simply answer, no.
