- Satyling, economy, much quality for the money
Purchased As New
I used to own a Honda Civic Hybrid. I was always asked why I bought a Japanese car. When I responded "Find me an American-made car that is good as my Honda and I will buy it." Chevy has done it with the Cruze.
Fantastic technology, especially the computerized shutter system behind the grill that automatically closes at 40 mph to improve aerodynamics. I also love the double tranny that can be driven automatic or shift. I switch to shift driving every once in a while just for fun.
Regarding gas mileage complaints here, switch around to different brands and you will see improvements of one over the other. In my area Racetrac, an off-brand, provides the best mileage. I average 31-32 local driving and up to 40 on the highway. Sure, my Honda gave me better gas mileage, but the car costs $6,000 more than the Cruze, making the Cruze more economical. You are not going to spend $60,,, more for gasoline over the life of the car. And, never mind the battery pack in the Honda that costs more than $6,000 if it needs to be replaced.
Regarding three reviewers who complain about the center armrest being too short, read your manuals. If you grasp the armrest underneath the handle, the armrest slides forward and provides an extenstion.
I paid $20,500 for a fully equipped 2011 2LT loaded, including all leather interior. This is a fantastic car for the money. And, it's about time.
