- good gas mileage, lots of room, smooth ride, good brakes, nice stereo
- cupholders are a bad position,
I switched from Chrysler products to Chevy while almost being swayed to foreign makes. I've only had my Equinox a week but I really like it. The engine is smooth, it rides very well and the brakes WORK unlike Dodge and Chrysler products. I will traveling 1500+ miles in it with my family in a month so I will get to really evaluate it. So far I am happy I stayed with an American maker....read morehide

- Good MPG, Smooth Ride, Very Roomy (Especially in the 2nd Row), Very Sturdy and Practical Interior
- Wish an optional 3rd row seat would be available, wish the shift would light up.
Just traded in an almost 5 year old RAV 4 for a Chevy Equinox. The Rav 4 was horrible. The ride in the RAV4 was bumpy, the tires would screech almost every time I turned a corner (the wheel base was narrow), there wasn't much space on the inside, and I had to drive reallllyyy slowly in the snow, as the car always felt like it could roll/tip over easily when it was in wet/snowy conditions (again, because of the narrow wheelbase). The RAV 4 was not worth the cost AT ALL.
However, my Equinox is VERY different - in a good way. My Equinox, which was valued at about 24,000, cost 19, 890. My RAV4 was valued at 21,000, and sadly, I paid 21,000. The Equinox, unlike the RAV4, has a very smooth ride, good fuel economy (I get about 18 in the city, 24-25 on the highway), does not screech when I turn corners, is very roomy, and doesn't feel like I'm gonna tip over in snowy/wet conditions. Onstar is another thing I love. If I go somewhere, and get lost, I have the reassurance that I can just give Onstar a call and ask for directions. I LOVE IT. I'd buy another GM vehicle just for the Onstar.
The interior is fantastic. Sturdy and practical.
Now, I read about some people saying that this car gets horrible MPG. My mother said it doesn't get very good MPG, too. She has a severe lead foot, though. However, you can't go super fast on a highway and expect to get decent gas mileage. 90 mph is not a fuel efficient speed!
I looked at a Hyundai Santa Fe prior to looking at a Chevy Equinox, and the Santa Fe doesn't even come close to the Equinox. I am so very glad that I got the Equinox. It's great, and I'll consider buying another one from GM in 5-10 years. Great job GM!...read morehide

- love the on-star, lots of room, great for traveling with family.
- wish the steering wheel would adjust higher, pet travels in back opt. carpet in back would be great.
gas mileage is medium wish it was a little better, traded in a 2001 grand prix love the height of the vehicle no more squating to get in or out. love the plastic board on the back seat of the passenger seat i have a kid so this keeps the back seat from getting dirty.not used to some of the switches, the wind shield wiper is like a turn signal, the window button is in the middle by the gear shift, not on the door, just have to get used to it. i have only had it a week so far so good....read morehide

- The only thing that really upset me was the poor quality of tires that came with the vehicle.
Cont from Cons: The Bridgestone tires that came with this vehicles are terrible. I barely got 30k before the tires need replaced, due to tire wear. This is just not my conclusion but alot of other owners on other reviews concur with me on poor tread performance. I'm sure that GM could find a better tire to put on future vehicles....read morehide

- Comfort, Roomy inside, great get up and go!
- You can hear the wind
I have had this vehicle since it first came out in 2005 and I LOVE IT! Its the only vehicle our family owns, so its driven everyday. I love the way it handles, its roomy inside, you can haul stuff and there is a rack on the roof in case you need more space.
One other thing, AC works great!
Only complaint- Noisy when the wind blows, otherwise you can't hear outside....read morehide

- Lots of leg room, easy to drive, good horsepower
- Needs to be a little more fuel efficient
I bought my Equinox last July and it has been nothing but great to me so far! It drives excellent and has great horsepower! However, it could be a little bit better on gas! Overall, it is a great car to start out with!
