2008 Chevrolet Equinox User Reviews

- Style and design. Gas mileage and comfy ride
- Bad cupholder design, engine tap and phantom problems
I do enjoy driving my Equinox and find the syling and design quite desireable but it has its small quirks as well. The cupholders are something that needs to desperately need to be redesigned. they are flimsy and any type of cup when it sweats leaks so you cannot put anything down under them so they get wet. I like tilt wheel but feel that more than just two positions should be required. Around 10K miles the engine started making a slight tapping noise and when I took it into the dealership to have it checked out, they told me that is normal when the car gets around this type of mileage. I have a co-worker who also has an Equinox and hers is doing the same thing and her service department told her the same! What? A tap in the engine is normal? Also, I just had it in to service for a second time because I keep getting the "Service Traction Control" warning and apparently, they say that the "computer" doesnt show any record that it has ever malfunctioned and cannot do anything until the computer says so, but I the owner they dont believe, but the day after I got it back. It came one again. I didnt buy a new car to have phantom issues so considering letting someone else have them, but I wont buy another Equinox unfortunately.
