2003 Chevrolet Impala User Reviews
- $3,512 - $4,049

This was my closest friends car for 8 years. It had a few little issues the first couple years, but nothing big. Then at 60k miles the windshield leaked every bad storm, so water would build up on the passenger side. The worst time was about two inches, also during the winter ice would build up on the inside of the windshield. So watch for any water damage, though I have not heard of anyone else having this issue.(And no the car was never in a accident) The 3800 series II engine is however known for heavy old burning. To the point it can destroy the engine, but the trans will go out before that. At 78k the transmission would not shift gears unless you floored it, and even then it didn't do anything quickly. By 80k the seats were shot and the AC/heat would only work on max fan or not at all.
Though if you do find a good one, they still aren't the best car out there. The 3800 delivers 200hp which is ok, and hits 60 in 8.2sec and that's average, but not fast by all means. The mpg's are fare as well is handling and breaking, and the interior is also ok. However, if this is the type of car you're interested in I would recommend the Buick Regal.(the sister car) They are typically more equipped and the interiors have better quality. They also tend to hold up a little better and have a touring package that makes them handle better. Though if you want a vehicle that holds up better I would say look for a Maxima/Altima or Camry/Avalon though they will cost you more $. Still I would take a Regal over the Impala any day, and when you sit in a Regal with leather you will know why....read morehide

I bought a 2003 impala LS sport as my first car 2 years ago and im glad i did. the car is great looking as well as quick, the power delivery to the wheels is smooth and quick which makes for geat city driving. the fuel mileage is alright with 19 city and 29 highway but if you install a K&N air filter like i did it will greatly improve the gas milage i went from 19 city to 23 and 29 highway to 33. not to mention it ison of the smoothest rides ive ever ridin in. If your looking for a dependable car that looks good, drives great and is just a joy getting an Impala LS from 2002-2005 you wont be disipointed....read morehide
