- Great ride and interior layout is perfect.
- Dex-Cool coolant will break down and turn to sludge, change to green stuff.
The car all around is very close to perfect and I have no complaints based on ride or performance as well as interior quality.
Very well laid out and a nice performing motor in the 3800.
I would say the power stearing fill could have been placed in a better spot to check and get to, but not as important as the fact GM is still sticking with Dex_cool which has been proven over and over to cause intake manifold leaks and gasket break down not to mention what it does to radiators and water pumps. Wanna make this a 100% perfect car? flush the dex-cool and go to green....read morehide

- Looks great, lots of features, roomy inside
- Stiff suspension
This car is has style and function. Traction control and anit-lock brakes were my minimum requirements so I went with the LS. I test drove the standard model and noticed that the LS has a stiffer ride but it feels more in control when cornering and at highway speeds. Many standard features. Survived a one foot snowfall with no problems. This is a good solid car and I would recommend it to anyone....read morehide

- good gas mileage--good looking--many standard features--smoothest shifting transmission around
- engine not smooth soundins--
I have been leasing a 2004 Impala for a year now and I must say that this is a very good car. It has many standard features for the price. It's good on gas , it's powerful, pretty quiet on the highway,. I would have liked the OnStar, but it was an option last year, but standard this year. The only detriment is the fact that I'm afraid to buy any american vehicle because they still don't last as long as a japanese car. That's why I lease. When the lease is up' I get rid of it. My other car is a Toyota Highlander. I bought that vehicle....read morehide

- Average fuel,looks good,lots of room,large trunk.
- Engine and Road noise very load,Winter driving is terrible.
Our new car wont start on every start and stalls out for no reason, and new car dealer where purchased will not fix, says it is normal for that to happen.
Very hard car to stop or turn in snow.Or even take off in any amount of snow.
This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned and would not recomend to anyone to buy no matter how good the deal sounds....read morehide

- Great Comfort, Great gas mileage, Dependable
- Needs Three Tail Lights on each side to be a "True Impala"
I drive 50-60k a year driving and this 05 Impala is the best so far! Comfortable on a long drive of 500 + miles in a day combined with the creature comforts of a sunroof, xm radio (a must, heated leather seats and on-star features make this a great investment.
The Traction control makes this a good car in the snow and the 3.8L engine has good power while still giving me 30+ mpg on the highway (34 mpg if I can stay in the draft of tall those Wallmart trucks)
I will end up selling this one to my daughter in High School for short money when i'm done with it at 90k like I have done with my 03 Impala and they end up with a great car, lots of options and I know they will be safe. (the o5 has side impact and side curtain air bags)
Overall a great deal. You can certianly spend alot more money on a car but why?
I hope that Chevy does not screw up the new style 06 models...read morehide
