- Great fuel economy, decent power, and plenty of room.
- Brakes sqeak from time to time, need a cup holder on the dash similar to the Malibu 99-03.
This is a great car for the money. Impala has been known to be a muscle car and should have never had a base 3.4 liter engine available. The 3.8 liter engine should have been a base engine to begin with and a supercharged 3.8 liter for the LS, 5.3 liter engine on the SS model, overall good car. I guess you can't have both, good fuel economy and a 5.3 engine with gas prices nearly $3.00 dollars a gallon. I have never had a problem with dex-cool or the green stuff because I have mine flushed out once every 2 years driving about 27,000 miles for those two years. I think flushing and replacing your anti-freeze every 30,000 miles and checking its coolant level is the best thing you can do fo your car, since we all do rough driving like stop and go and speeding. Great trunk space, decent power and the traction control is a must have in rainy weather or snow. On-star is a must and can one day save my life. This car looks good, drives good, and is what I call a car. If you can't afford a Cadillac then the Impala is the car to have. I don't think they really differ much.
