Purchased a new 2004 SS model in mid June of 2005 (dealer still had one on their showroom floor). This dealer didn't order any 2005's as Chevy has a planned body/engine change for the Impala in the 2006 model year. The supercharged engine provides for a consistant power band. Extremely large trunk, and pretty good fuel economy (18/28), but be aware that it does require premium gasoline for the best preformance (91 Octane). Should note that these do not come standard/optional with tinted glass (had a 3rd party tint mine). I also replaced the stock hi/low beam and fog lamp bulbs for Sylvania SilverStars. The 2005 SS model should be the same as the 2004 with the exception of color choice and front grill (some 2004's have a louvered grill-blue "bow tie", and some 2004's-all 2005's have a honeycombed grill-gold "bow tie").
