- Pros
- great ride and fuel economy

I am very pleased with car overall. the ride is super smooth and the fuel economy for such a large car is excellent. I bought the lower end of the model types and still found it to be well equiped. less stuff to break. This will be my third impala and i got over 250 thousand miles on my last one. expect no less....read morehide

- Pros
- Great mileage, good ride, low cost, large trunk
- Cons
- Some road noise

We have owned a 2009 Lt and just bought a 2013. The 09 was a good car for us with only a couple of issues that were covered under warrant. We put 105000 on the 09 and were happy enough with it to buy another. Great price for the size and quality

- Pros
- Simple to use dashboard controls, decent fuel economy and a very large trunk.
- Cons
- Very loud wind and outside noise, and may sensor issues. Rear seat space also is cramped.

I drive an 07 chevy impala as a family car and have done so since it had 16k miles on it. I also drive a 2013 impala for work so I can review both in one setting since the only changes are the engine / transmission.
Now almost 6 years later I have 115,00k miles on imy 07 and the transmission and engine only seem to get smoother as she goes.
I must note, however, that although the engine and transmission are great and I have never had problems with them, I take extremely good car of my car with oil changes every 3k miles and major service checks every 30k miles. These usually run in the $200-$300 range.
Lets just start with Negatives...a smaller back seat than my wife's Prius, very loud wind noise, many computer sensor issues, cheap exterior paint, cheap fake leather, cheaper than dirt interior materials, and way outdated.
Now for the Positives...good gas mileage for a car its size(have reached 34 mpg on straight highways, but expect 27-29), decent engine power, extremely good engine power with the 2013 3.6 liter, good for tall people only if they are driving, and an enormous trunk.
The engine will go forever if you take care of it, but if you expect to keep it for a long time, expect to pay dearly for the little things.
For the 2013, the transmission needs a little more refining as it often hesitates to shift in low gears, but when she goes...she can fly with 303 horsepower. You've been warned....read morehide1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Roomy, Big Trunk, good ride
- Cons
- Rearview mirror to large and badly placed
Purchased As Used
I like this car, have owned Lexus, Infinit, BMW and numerous American brands. This car gets good mileage for a big car and I am 6'7" and fit comfortably while averaging 21 mpg, unheard of for me to fit in a car that gets decent mileage!

- Cons
- Bad paint on mine.
Purchased As Used
I have never bought a car with bad paint before; the zone office said they would pay only half, since it appeared repainted. Half would have been over $1700. Attempted to touch it up; unable to match the "metallic" paint. What ever happened to Earl Scheib?

- Nothing but JUNK, 2008 Impala LT
Purchased As New
Purchased new and problems started at about 15000 miles with engine knock. After continued complaints and after 49,000 miles and two engine tear-downs and final third time engine replacement, GM got it somewhat right. After another 15,000miles, more problems, steering power failed and emissions failed. Forgot to add the failure of the alternator at 12,000miles. After owning eighteen GM vehicles, NO MORE!!!.......last three had serious problems....read morehide

- Cons

My family has 2 08 Impala's and they both have over 100k miles on them. I'm 24 and love them. Good gas mileage for a full size car. We took ours to Texas and got 32 miles to the gallon on the highway.

- Pros
- MPG, Power, Winter driving, Comfort (im 6'1" 220), Reliabilty
- Cons
- Wind Noise from windows
Purchased As New
Bought an LS new in 2008, I have over 150,000 miles on it so far and the car runs and drives GREAT! 75mph and 30 MPG! Full Size...not a lot of extras, but the remote start works from inside the house or across the parking lots! Fit and finish are my only complaint, I get some wind noise from the windows and drivers side door hangs a bit and they cant seem to keep it adjusted.
Otherwise, the perfect company/low cost family car!
I will keep buying them untill my kids are out of the house! Then its Vette time! :-)
Nothing but brakes, tires and fluids!...read morehide4 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
