Purchased As Used
I have just purchased an '04 Malibu Maxx LT V6 200 hp. Is it necessary to change the transmission fluid at 31,000 miles? This car has hardly been driven the past 10 years! I have taken it to 2 Chevrolet dealers in Charlotte who tell me also that there are not any grease fittings to grease the front suspension! The owners book advise there are two fittings up front. Can someone out there "fill me in on any problems I should know about?
Thanks, Bill Tulbert, Charlotte btulbert1@ carolina.rr.com...read morehide

- We simply loves this car. Plenty of room, great mileage and a great list of std features
- I have no cons about this car.
The Maxx is a pleasure to drive. It is tight and the roadnoise is non-existent. The engine really gets up and barks when you need it to in a passing situation or just to kick it down on the freeway for some fun. This car is a tight sportscar in an unassuming frame.
We live in the harsh Minnesota climate and it has been -24 to -36 degrees. The remote starter is great for us and the heating system is very good with a quick warmup. Our children's car seats fit very well in the back seats because they adjust and recline. The storage area is great for a family of four. The traction control is also very handy in our climate and feels better than the traction control on my Park Avenue. For the money, the ride and the value, you really can't beat this car. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
Somone else wrote that they were getting poor mileage but we have been getting 30 mpg on highway and 21/22 in the city.
My only regret is that I did not get the DVD for the kids in the back!...read morehide

- Great fuel economy,Very quick for the start, very comfortable!!!
Me and my wife was just looking when we test drove the maxx! Great car fell in love the moment we got in the car. We purchased the Malibu Maxx LT with all the trimmings, DVD, onstar, 6 disc cd changer, leather you name it its in there. And for a car of its size it has great storage room for trips. We have had this car for 4 months and already have put 6,000 miles on it we just had to take a few trips for the holidays. We went from NC to Fl on just a little over $20 in gas, and the ride was as smooth as can be. And the ONSTAR is a must you are able to make phone calls with this system without the worry of a cell phone. I am 5'9 and 210 and i fit great in this car! And with my wife being 4'11 and the foot pedals and steering wheel able to adjust to her hieght its great for her. the sunroofs in the back are great as well! I can't say enough about this car you just have to test drive one and see for yourself!!!...read morehide

- 3.3 v-6 has very good power, dvd player great for the kids, ajustable front / rear seats are great
- big problem with freezing windshield wipers. cup holders suck.no heated sidemirrors
with rebates and tax, out the door price was just under 22,000.00$
the car rides and performs great, t/c is nice in winter but,the wipers
keep freezing up.no rear wiper on the 04. (but you can get it on the 05.)and no side mirror defrost. G.M just can't seem to get it right.
