Purchased As Used
If you are like I used to be, stop ignoring American brand cars. GM has a winner with the MALIBU.
I'll give you the bad first (it won't take long). This car should have had a 6-speed transmission. I think its offered on the 2010 models. You will feel it when you take off from a dead stop. On the highway, it won't recover from a slowdown if you need to get back up to speed (I'm am a very aggressive driver so this may not even bother some). The trunk is average size but getting somethings through the opening can be a chore. One day, I bought some polarized shades and noticed how clear they seemed to make everything while I was driving. Turns out, the gray colored dash is reflected from the windshield. Now, I can't even drive without them.
Now the good. This car looks good. It even has a bit of an aggressive look to it. I actually like walking up to my car in any parking lot. I'm getting about 25/33 city/highway. For a car this size, that's not bad for me. Acceleration, braking, and handling are all pretty good. And remember, if we don't buy American, who will?
