Getting about 47 mpg- I drive 100 miles a day so I traded in my truck. People stop and ask me about my car at least once a week. This is my first non-Ford and my first car. Very cute car. Front seat not very comfortable (compaired to a truck).

could the American's possible create an uglier car? YES! The Pontiac Aztek (discontinued). Hard to believe but this car is 2nd ugliest ever created.

Did not purchase Spark, but had a brand new Denim Blue LT1 Automatic as a rental from Enterprise for 5 days. Drove 566 total miles in the vehicle inside the city of Phoenix and the foothills north of the city.
Positives - 37.7 combined MPG for the 566 miles, about 2/3 highway driving to 1/3 city. Spark looks like a 3 door hatchback, but is actually a 5 door. Rear side door handles are hidden in the rear door window surround. The Spark got LOTS of attention from people, especially younger (under 30) people. Lots of people wanted to know if it was an electric vehicle, like the Nissan Leaf. Of course, its not electric. Fantastic city driving with good handling and a super-tight turning radius. Ride not plush, but acceptable for such a small car. Bring/Go system worked well with my Droid phone and streaming audio. OnStar did not work at all in this car.
Negatives - hard plastic interior (door panels, dash) scratches easily. Lots of wind noise on the interstate at speeds over 60 mph. Car gets moved around by heavy trucks and cross-winds on the highway too. But highway ride is very good. Seats could use more padding and the door arm rests need to have some padding on them - they were HARD plastic. Automatic transmission is only a FOUR speed - Chevy should give it at least a 5 speed automatic. At least its not a droning CVT transmission....read morehide4 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- I'm getting better mileage than the EPA rating
- Cons
- Not bad for a very small car
Purchased As New
The Spark is a lot of little car for very little dinero. My 2013 is loaded with every option and still cost less than $17K. Mileage in town has consistently been three to four miles above the sticker quote. It's a great urban driving vehicle that is what it is...perfectly adequate urban transportation with style...despite remarks of some of the snobbish reviewers who seem to want to compare it to a $25,000 to $30,000 vehicle...read morehide

- Pros
- Its really not that small and has 4 doors
- Cons
- I wish the arm rest was a little bigger
Purchased As New
I absolutely love my brand new spark!!!!!! Not only is it adorable but its surprisingly spacious. Everyone stops me and tells me how cute it is not to mention how cool the color is (jalapeno green). Its simply awesome it gets me from school to work perfectly. If I would change something it would be the arm rest I just wish it was bigger and also sometimes I really have to throw my door for it to close properly. Other than that its awesome!!!! Best decision ever I really do think its a good choice for people that like small cars....read morehide

- Pros
- Fuel Economy, Small size
- Cons
- Road noise when windows are down

I've had my Spark for about a month, and I LOVE IT! Nimble to drive, great on milage and I love the looks it gets (whether for the style or it's pink/mauve color). I researched this car and waited for it. So far, I can only say it's downside is that you get alot of cabin noise when the windows are down at speed. It's alot zippier that you'd expect for a 1.2 liter, I haven't had it on a long trip yet, but around town it's a great car!...read morehide

- Cons
- The cargo space is small.

I have only had this car for just over 24 hours, but I love it. Forget the EXpert reveiws. This is a great car. I live in the Prescott area of AZ but bought the care at Midway Chevy (great service). For people not knowing AZ I17 is a race track! The care performed great. I had no problem driving the fast pace of I17. Hill climbing was ok, but no major issue. Driving around town is great....read morehide

- Pros
- Roomy for size, good fuel economy, stylish, unique(dont see em on the road often)
- Cons
- fuel economy could be better, interior scratches easily, have to slam doors to close them

I bought my 2013 Spark in November 2012. I instantly loved the car, I always wanted a small hatchback that was great on gas. I traded in my 2009 Pontiac G6 for it, the car was sucking me dry at the gas pump.
At almost 4,000 miles already I have not had any issues mechanically with the car. Even though it only has 84 horsepower, the car does just fine keeping up with traffic, and highway speeds. I drive it as a daily commuter being stationed at Ft. Sill, OK on active duty. My only issues with the car are small ones. I notice how easily the interior plastics stratch and do not rub out. Another thing that really irritates me is the fact that you cannot simply just push the doors closed, you have to slam them or push hard. If not, the doors do not close all the way, something I have to tell passengers that ride in it. Also took it back to the dealer when I noticed the rear bumper is not aligned correctly, and they only just told me "its normal for GM to have gaps in some parts of the bumpers". Thanks for the help Jim Glover Chevrolet (Lawton, OK).
Other than that I love the car, people make jokes about its small size and quirky looks, but I'm the one that drives it, so I don't give a s***. Overall the Spark is an excellent small car, with plenty of room, could be slightly better on gas though......read morehide2 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- mpg, easy & fun to drive, decent storage room for size!
- Cons
- hard when you hit potholes/bumps, no passenger arm rest

LOVE THIS CAR! I test drove every car in this class, including the Sonic. Driving the Sonic enticed me into trying the Spark, and I had a lengthy drive to even find one.
I've had the car about 2 months, approx 5500 miles, in the mountains of WV. VERY hilly here, and I've gotten as high as 41.8 mpg with conservative driving. Low was 34.1 which was in a major city traffic jam with mostly stop and go driving. Average over the 5K miles total is 38.2, again, I drive in very mountainous terrain, and this includes husband driving it in "zippy" mode and a few tanks worth of me driving for FUN, rather than to conserve fuel : )
If you are looking for major power, you need to drive an entirely different class of car. I do downshift on 2-lane highway driving on some hills if I need the get up and go. Also, if you are looking at the MPG of other manufacturers, you might want to look into the class action lawsuit against Kia, Hyundai, and others as it appears they have inflated the MPG on many of their cars.
I love that the back seat folds down FLAT, and I travel a lot of miles with tons of #$%$. It all fits in the car with no problem. I love the hidden back doors! Looks 2 door but fully functional when loading. The upright styling allows me to put plenty of stuff in the back hatch, even when the seats are upright.
It seems to me this car is an engineering marvel. It's shocking one can fit so much stuff AND full-sized people in this car. It is so fun to drive that I feel like I'm flying a space ship, rather than driving!
However, I'm only 5'4" and I wouldn't see this car as a great fit for a family of huge people. Having said that, my 6'1" boss went on a 6 hour round-trip in the car with no difficulties at all. He loved the car and said he was very comfortable. He is TALL, not wide though.
The car fits my overall size perfectly. I hated that other cars were so uncomfortable and I couldn't see out at all and/or actually use the arm rests as they were too far away.
The 2LT features are definitely worth paying more for, especially the non-cloth seats. Ditto for the manual over the automatic. I am very happy I got the 5 speed.
Cons are that there is no passenger arm rest. Hubby hates the bump on the left front driver floorboard as it interferes with where he wants to rest his leg on long drives.
Overall, this is a fantastic little car and I would buy it again...and I hope Chevy keeps this lil gal as I would trade this one in for a new one in several years.
If you understand what you will get with a small engine in a small car, you can't go wrong with this car. Although fun to drive, it's not a sports car, and you aren't getting a hotrod....read morehide9 out of 9 people found this review helpful.
