- Pros
- Roomy
- Cons
- 4wd unreliable, not good on wet roads
Purchased As Used
4wd not reliable and not to good on wet roads maybe because of the truck axle. The appearance not to good either and the dash board looks like something from the 80's. Chevy was way behind on this model compared to other makes. It is roomy and it does get me around other than that pretty reliable....read morehide

- Pros
- smooth ride and handling
- Cons
- unreliable 4WD system (actuator), and marginal towing capability
Purchased As Used
I bought this vehicle to tow a 6500 lb. travel trailer and have lots of room for the family. So far I have had to replace the rear differential bearings and the Service 4WD alarm comes on whenever I tow. The 4WD actuator is poorly designed and unreliable in this vehicle. I have confirmed this with other Suburban/Tahoe owners. If you are planning to tow and need 4WD, I would by a a real truck such as a Ford. I'm getting rid of this "money pit" vehicle....read morehide

- Pros
- Powerful giant
- Cons
- Nothing at all
Purchased As Used
I LOVE this vehicle.
I installed 4 pieces of studded snow tires (in Erie, PA), and you can't tell that this car is cruising on the ice, or snow at all. It's smooth, quiet, powerful. Everything you need.
Lots of rooms for everyone inside.
DVD system is great. You can listen it wired, or wireless. Bose sound system is excellent. It has a built in XM radio, OnStar, DVD Player, 3 zone climate control and a 6CD-player
I'll do my best to keep one running, I don't like the outlook of the newer models of Suburban.
Sun/Moonroof is awesome. Power pedals, power mirrors. I tell you, it has everything you need.
I use it at 4WD-low, in the city, on the snow, very aggressively, and yet, it runs 11 miles per gallon, much better than Ford Excursion, which is only 4inch longer in length, nothing else....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Room for a family of 5 plus adog
- Cons
- ride too rough, goes through a tank of gas in 6 days
After driving a mini van for 8 years the next step was to go to a large suv. Plenty of roon for a family of 5.It could be alittle smoother ride. I am getting 13 miles to a gallon!!!! I wish it was alittle higher.

- Pros
- Nice options, great looking inside and out.
I traded in our 2004 Chevy Tahoe for this new 2005 Suburban. In my opinion, it is far superior to the Tahoe. I bought one with all the options like OnStar, leather interior, entertainment center, etc. It drives much better than the Tahoe and gives one more confidence of roadability. Plenty of power. My wife is in love with this vehicle. Maybe I will get to drive it once in a while. Can't wait to go on a trip and enjoy the features....read morehide

- Pros
- solid ride, handling, fit and finish
- Cons
- sheet metal crumples in a fender bender
This truck is a big improvement over my 98 4wd suburban in terms of finish and feel. I think I can trust it to remain intact for off road driving.

- Pros
- solid ride, great handling, lots of room
- Cons
- bad front seatbelts design, gas mileage is just ok, front freeze plug, no 6 cd player, better radio
We bought our suburban about 2 months ago, we love the ride and handling for such a large vechicle and given the size the gas mileage isn't too bad. We have had one on going problem though, the right front freeze plug(that holds antifreeze into the engine area) has been leaking and even though its been to two dealerships over 4 times now, no one seems to be able to fix it properly and the truck still has an antifreeze odor inside it. We went back to an american truck maker after having had foreign and I hope we didnt make a mistake. I would hate to have this problem haunt us and take away from what otherwise would be a good experience at owning this truck. The only other problem are the design of the front seatbelts. Its is going to adventually poke a hole in the armrest given the way the buckle is when used with the armrest down. I also hated giving up my 6cd player and better radio system....read morehide

- Pros
- SUPER ROOMY, GOOD ACCELERATION, GREAT OVERALL FEELING.
- Cons
- PRICE, GAS MILEAGE.
I'VE HAD MY SUBURBAN FOR A MONTH AND I GOT 3,000 MILES ON IT.
GAS MILEAGE HAS BEEN A LITTLE BETTER THEN EXPECTED BUT IT NEEDS TO BE BETTER. EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE AND THE SECURE FEELING YOU GET WHEN PASSING A SEMI AT 70 MPH IS PRICELESS
(SPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE TWO KIDS IN BACK). THIS WILL BE THE ONLY KIND OF VEHICLE I WILL ALWAYS BUY....read morehide1 out of 3 people found this review helpful.
