2007 Chevrolet Suburban User Reviews
LT2 1500 2WD shown
- $16,288 - $22,607
- fantastic looking Vehicle
- Can't decide between the Yukon or the Suburban
I am looking to buy and was fortunate enough to drive a 3/4 ton 4x4 Lt3 for a couple of days, I live in the Hill country of Texas and the vehicle took the curves and hills wonderfully, the Highway experience when we drove to San Antonio was impressive, I own a 04 Silverado 2500 4x4LT and my wife has an 06 Envoy Denalli XL, This truck blew the doors of my truck and surpassed my wifes with ride and luxury and hers is fully loaded also, the review camera in the Nav system is a must. The only problem I am having is tyring to decide wether to purchase the GMC, which has slighlty more comfortable seats, or the Chevy which looks alot better and more name recocnition.
I only wish is that the GMC had the Denalli or Cadallac the Escalade that could tow my 8600pd Travel Trailer....read morehide

- Roomy, comfortable, nice options, nice looking
- Rattles (after one week), some options laborsome to use
I bought the Z71 package because of numerous reasons - some light towing, great looking fender flares and assist steps, and because it is the LT3 with a few more options. I also went with bucket seats.
I am not sure if the previously noted "rattle trap" also boasts bucket seats, but my truck rattles already in the rear seat area and dash area. The worst rattles coming from the bucket seats. This truck has 11 miles on it when I bought it. It now has about 150 and rattles worse than my last truck did after 6 months.
BEAR IN MIND - that rattling is covered in your limited warranty. The rattles must be easily located by the tech, so get them in your car and show them. They won't find them in the parking lot. Hopefully, I will be able to knock them all out before my warranty expires.
I do love the truck otherwise, but I have not owned it long enough to truly give a performance review. I am just so frustrated with the rattling that I had to write.
NICE WARRANTY - The GM warranty (100k miles and 4 years) was priced right at 1060.
I do feel that you pay the price buying a first model year truck. I expect some issues.
Chevy has never been good about getting it right the first year out....read morehide

- roomy, nice interior, kids/ wife love it, engine power
- It rattles like crazy i cant even drive it what is chevy doing
My wife complained about her dodge mini-van so i went and bought her a new suburban. I am not very impressed by it, the interior is great but it rattles and just dosent feel right. The electrical system isnt right the radio just shuts off and same with the interior lights at night. I would highly suggest to look at the new expedition. If i could go back i would go back to ford they seem to have hit it right with the expedition. Also the truck looks like a more like a mini-van. The old suburban was a real truck this is not....read morehide

- Decent economy with great performance. Excellent ride quality and plenty of room
Couldn't be happier with this LTZ package Suburban. Back-up camera nd navigation system are terrific features. Ride quality and handling is vastly improved of the older models I've had in the past. Fit and finish has also improved greatly. All in all, I'm very pleased. It's solid, performce very well, has all the room that I need, and very rich in feature content. I would highly recommend to anybody who really needs the room....read morehide

- Fuel economy (14 in "normal" conditions & 22 on our first interstate-only trip). Upgraded interior!
- Blind spots at side and rear pillars (but extra bulk improves rollover safety)
Amazing! The birth of our 4th child happened to coincide with the release of this beautiful new Chevrolet. We had planned to replace our aging Honda Oddesey with a Toyota Sequoia, until our next-door neighbors conviced us to check out the new Suburbans/Yukon XL's. Everything stated as a positive by others is dead-on: handling is great, safety features are wonderful (I recommend the full air-bag package), fuel economy is great for a vehicle this size and rivaled our Oddesey on the first extended trip, the dashboard looks like it was produced by a Japanese luxury automaker (lots of brushed alum and simulated wood-grain, lots of cargo room, and the overall appearance is stunning! Something my wife and I noticed after 20 miles -- we could hear the kids when they talked to us from the rear seat...it was that quiet inside. My only advice to buyers with lots of car seats for kids: Get the second row buckets and third row bench seating. While the second row bench does flip and fold for rear-access, is a real pain with a car seat/booster in it. I think the access between the buckets would have been a better choice for us.
I was a little hesitant to buy this in it's first year of production, but GM's 3/36 and 5/100 (powertrain) warranty convinced me. From what I have experienced so far, I made the right decision!...read morehide

- KILLER LOOKS, SMOOTH RIDE, GREAT FIT AND FINISH BOTH IN AND OUT.
THIS IS OUR SECOND SUBURBAN. WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT OVER OUR 99. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE VEHICLE ITSELF WHEN IT COMES TO UTILITY AND PEOPLE MOVING. I TOW TRAILERS FULL OF CRUSHED ROCK, PEA GRAVEL, BARK, AND ROCK WITH NO HINT THAT I HAVE ANYTHING IN TOW. I HAVE THREE BOYS AND ALONG WITH THAT COMES FRIENDS, BASEBALL, FISHING, AND THE LIKE. THIS TRUCK (OR I SHOULD CALL IT CAR NOW, DUE TO THE WAY IN WHICH IT RIDES AND HANDLES) GOBBLES UP ANYTHING I THROW AT IT AND BEGS FOR MORE. WHAT OTHER VEHICLE CAN YOU REMOVE ALL THE SEATS AND HAUL ITEMS SUCH AS: 14 SHEETS OF DRYWALL, A FULL SIZE COUCH, 52 INCH PLASMA, A REAR DIFFERENTIAL, VERTICAL FILING CABINETS, A CHEST OF DRAWERS, SHRUBS, TREES, LUMBER, AND THEN WHEN YOUR DONE PUT THE SEATS IN, AND TAKE THE FAMILIY OF FIVE OUT FOR DINNER AND A MOVIE??? THE NEW 2007 IS SUCH AN IMPROVEMENT. THE INTERIOR FEATURES CHROME TRIMMED DIALS WITH RUBBER ACCENTS, BRUSHED ALUMINUM AND FAUX WOOD TRIM THAT ACTUALLY LOOK GOOD, GREAT SEATS, AND A WELL THOUGHT OUT GAUGE CLUSTER. THE RIDE IS ALMOST CAR LIKE SOAKING UP ALL THE DISTURBANCES THAT TRY TO SPILL YOUR STARBUCKS.THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST FAMILY VEHICLE THAT MONEY CAN BUY. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A VEHICLE TO HALL/TOW/AND TRANSPORT YOUR FAMILY...IN MY OPINION....CHEVY SUBURBAN...THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE!!...read morehide

- Great styling ,14-15mpg around town, can manage 17+mpg on highway at 60-65mph, 8.5mpg towing
- wish our's had fuel management system, wasn't available on 6.0 liter engine when we ordered
Our's was one of the first ordered in central Florida. Big and beautiful, interior and exterior, was worth passing up deal on leftover 2006 model. We can't be happier with the towing ability this vehicle has. First trip was towing a 9000 lb trailer to PA and back. See Van Gannaway dealership in Eustis,FL. Great people to deal with....read morehide

- Comfortable seating, remote starter, and excellent off-road performance.
- Way too big when it comes to garages.
I have rented a Surburban from Enterprise Rent-A-Car to take it for an 8-hour driving trip to Lake Tahoe, CA. It was very comfortable inside the Suburban during the trip. It had super off-road performance when it was snowing very heavy on the roads of Lake Tahoe. Also, the remote starter was a great feature, it helps to warm up the Suburban within minutes before driving. It had great highway passing power.I had an exciting time. My next SUV....read morehide
