2008 Chevrolet Suburban User Reviews

- great look exterior
- Brakes sometimes clank. Ride is too rough. Cloth seats is extremely poor.
I purchased a 2007 model. At first I thought it was great. It was not explained that I have to buy a lint remover every week just too get rid off lints on the seats. (I spent $30-$40aweek for lint removerand anti-static spray) Whenever I get out of the car my hair is all over the place because of the static from the seats it traps all the lints. I tried contacting the dealer, the sales person, and GM Motors to maybe replacing my seats but all of them rejected my request. Believe or not the service department knew that there was problems with the 2007 seats because of too much nylon used in the cloth material and yet it still not being recalled. I can't wait to trade it in for a different car. BELIEVE ME, IT WON'T BE A GM. I won't make the same mistakes ever again. GM MOTORS do not stand by thier name!!!!!...read morehide

- Has a great ride. Backup cameras a big plus for parking.
- Zero storage space. No 'cubby' holes to stick things away.
You buy a big vehicle because you need the space. The kids need someplace to put head phones, games, etc. No place under the seats, no place behind the seats. No under floor storage. Some designer wasn't thinking. The tiny cup holders won't even fit a 'koozy', and why would you ever put a lid over the cup holders that block access to the opening. You have to take your eyes off the road to see where to put your drink. There isn't even a place to put a cell phone or sun glasses, besides in the big console, which makes them dangerous to reach. (No, I don't talk on the cell and drive.) The oversized console is supposed to double as an arm rest, (which is now missing from the previous design). I can't reach the arm rests unless I'm spread eagle. The door arm rest won't let your arm lay down, which is very tiring on long rides. The assist handle that used to be above the glove compartment is gone. My older friends can't get up into the Suburban without it. The one on the side of the door is useless. The cargo area has no side tie down hooks or nets. Everything just rolls around. Why can't the third row seats fold into the floor. These are not expensive things, just common sense things....read morehide

I gave the Suburban high marks because, for it's size,it handles very good.Doesn't feel as heavy as Expedition, and has a much better lade-out interior than in the new Seqoias. This is truly a good companion for my equally-impressive SilveradoHD!

- Spacious, comfortable with great ride.
- Cargo area poor, unless you remove seats cargo very restricted, 12mpg
The fact the seats do not fold down flat is the biggest irritation and sufficient to pass on this vehicle if you can replace with one that does not have this ....have to call it a joke of a cargo area. If you need cargo space you have to remove all the seats except the front ones to load and unload with ease and to take advantage of the space available....read morehide

- The the only car I have ever loved.Great ride, so much luxury amazingly few maintainance issues.
- Better gas mileage would make this vehicle perfect
I drove my old Suburban like crazy...175,000 miles. One water pump was the only thing I ever had to replace. What a car! Meanwhile, my boyfriend had his "low maintenance" Suburu in the shop every few months...hah! Thank you GM!

- Sun Visor has no extenders. A real problem
Overall, an awesome ride and comfort next to none. Handles well on wet roads and visibility is good. No real blind spot to the right rear as experienced in the 05 Tahoe. Fuel economy is reasonable for a vehicle this size. If you "baby" it on the highway you can get 19+ mpg. I'm very disappointed in the sun visors - they have no extenders and provide inadequate coverage to the side windows, a problem GM should have addressed but obviously were too lazy to handle the design flaw. A breeze to park. A solid dependable ride....read morehide

- Ride good, spacious
- Problems with the electronics; currently the car has 23000 mile and less than a year old.
Within the past 70 days, twice had to be towed in the shop due to malfunction sensor, the third time had check engine sensor

- Great looks, Fuel milage o.k., because of flex engine you can use 87 octane gas. Great Ride.
Have owned two BMW X5's in the past. This is by far the best SUV i have ever owned. It puts the BMW to shame. More room better ride and you get what you paid for. Nav radio with XM is great and TV in the back keeps the kids busy. Very easy to park with backup camera.

- Graceful giant, handles great, easier than you think to negotiate in traffic. Parks fairly easy.
- Other than fuel efficiency, none, love the vehicle!
The best large SUV made! It's a much improved of the previous model Suburban, definitely better than a mini van!
