- great fuel economy, luxurous inside, all the bells and whistles
- nothing worth mentioning
Purchased As New
Have 2000 miles so far. Mileage is as promised, 21-23 for both city and hy. Have all the toys and love the backup camera. navigation system, On-Star, climate control, etc. No problems thus far. Its a big luxury car and you don't have to feel guilty about the mileage.

- Great Fuel Economy in City, Smooth Ride, Excellent Quality, and Comfort.
I have had the Tahoe Hybrid for about a month and this is a very impressive vehicle. I owned a Tahoe before and I have the same quality, comfort, performance, and safety features in the Hybrid. the difference is the gas mileage. In combined city and highway driving, I am averaging about 19 mpg but in "city" driving I am getting around 22 mpg. Anytime you are going 30 mph or less, the vehicle is running on either the electric motor, or a combination of the electric and gas motor. Any time you are coasting or braking, the battery which runs the electric motor is recharging. Additionally, the engine has cylinder deactivation so when you are driving along at a relatively steady speed, or if you are coasting, the engine only uses 4 of the 8 cylinders and your gas mileage really goes up. When you do need the power to tow or pass, it is defeintely there. The really cool thing is on the navigation screen you see a real time description of what mode you are in. The only thing that is a little strange is hearing a slight whine from the electric motor when you are accelerating slowly fom a stop - which I love because people turn and look and eventually ask questions. 4 people have approached my so far - all with positive things to say. Between all the comfort, safety features and the OnStar, I think this is a great vehicle....read morehide

- I believe that GM is testing the waters in the 5.3L engine as the prime mover will be accepted!
- GM has to decide the right engine to be used in the Tahoe Hybrid as standard!
With most consumers still in love with the power of a 5.3L engine, GM has to strike the right balance of power, economy, styling and spaciousness in the new styled Tahoe. GM work is testing the waters (so to Speak), but will eventually put the right engine acceptable to consumers.

- The two-mode hybrid system is great, but...
- You completely wasted it with the 6.0L V8!
GM, how could you? You finally realized that we needed hybrid trucks and SUVs. You developed a FANTASTIC 2-mode hybrid system. Then you stuck you're biggest, most bloated, most unnecessary engine imaginable in it and completely priced it out of the market!
The normal engine in it is the 5.3L V8 making 320 hp. Instead of following Toyota...read morehide
