- Nice Car to look at at
- lots of flaws, no spare tire, no lift gate, no luggage rack, doors are light weight
Be careful when buying this car, the good looks are deceiving. (1) the second row seats will injure you or cause an accident when folded over, (2) no spare tire for that off road mountain home, (3) no liftgate window so you can stuff the extra's in, and (4) shut a door and listen to the window bounce all over (not a great sound and one that says "how long before I have to pay to repair it?). By the way, there is no fix for second row seats. Test drive it with one seat up, the other down, then think of having your kid there!...read morehide

- Good fuel economy, Power when you need it, very comfortable
- Been in the shop four times with approx 6000 miles, HYBRID STICKERS EVERYWHERE
My wife and I purchased this vehicle about four months ago. We decided to trade in her Mitsubishi Outlander because we have a horse trailer and it didn't make sense to have another vehicle to pull it.
We have used the Tahoe to tow the trailer loaded with 2 1000 lbs horses, and had no problems. We didn't get the hybrid gas mileage, but we knew that going in. Most of the trip to our desitination was uphil, with the Tahoe walking up about 65 miles per hour. I was very impressed wit the towing capacity. Overall, I think I am pretty happy, but that could change soon.
After having the vehicle for three days, the check engine light came on. We had to take it to the dealer to readjust the regenerative brake system. We were trouble free for about three months when GM called to inform us of a recall and software upgrade.
I had noticed we weren't getting the best gas mileage anymore and took it in for the recall and upgrade. When we got it back, we were getting even worse gas mileage. We took it back the next week, and were informed an oxygen sensor in the exhaust pipe needed to be replaced. This was done and our gas mileage improved greatly.
Today, my wife informs me the driver's side door does not unlock when using the remote. The truck will be back in the shop to get it fixed.
Without the air conditioner, we can average 26 miles per gallon, but, since we live in Las Vegas, that isn't something we will see in the summer time. Our average gas mileage ranges between 21 and 22 mpg. When you step on the gas, the power is there, but you do have to learn to drive all over again.
The driver has to learn to use the pressure of a feather when taking off, otherwise, the motor jumps right to V8 and you lose all the gas mileage. This took us about a month to really get it down.
The hybrid stickers are EVERYWHERE. The first thing we did when we got it home was take them off the windshield and rear window. This left the two stickers on the side, that were removed after our first visit to the shop....read morehide

- Good Looks, Great Hybrid Design, Wonderfull to Drive
- 2nd row 40/60 seats, when folded over, rock as car is being driven, crashing into drivers seat
Completely fold over the 40/60 second row seats, and watch them rock forward and back as you start/stop your drive. When they rock back, they can crush anything placed below them (consider your kid in the 40 side as the 60 side slams down. Then when you stop, the seat crashes forward into the back of the drivers seat, transferring an unbeleiveable amount of force.

- Good fuel economy and very comfortable ride
- Nothing too really complain about except the decals but they easily come off
I have now owned this vehicle for about a month and can say that it is everything I expected and more. The vehicle is actually measuring in at 21.2 mpg according to the trucks computer and is extremely comfortable. The big plus is with all the power you can sometimes forget this is a hybrid. Definitely worth the investment!...read morehide

- Excellent economy in an attractive package
- the decals are remiscent of an 80s era economy car
The new chevy Tahoe is a beautifully packaged hybrid that sort of changes the way people look at hybrids. Instead of a statement, the tahoe proves that a hybrid can also not look like an easter egg. the ride is excellent, heavy and secure feeling. almost tanklike wile getting amazing freeway mileage. Also the motor is not wimpy, nor undersized. Best of all its a chevy...whars not to love?...read morehide

- As my 9 year old daughter says..."its so smooth"
- Lots and lots of decals
I have owned the 4X4 Tahoe for about 2 weeks now and love it. Most of, if not all my friends thought I was crazy. However, they al seem to want to ride in it now that I have it. The first two weeks have yielded a 17mpg with all in town stop and go driving. I would guess as summer gets closer the mileage will increase and during the winter I may as well be driving my old tahoe.
The drive is smooth and a no one but the driver would know when the engine is running or is off. In town I notice the V4 running more then the V8. One thing that I was a little disapointed with is the how soon under rather low acceleration the engine kicks in. Around 10mph from a slow start. If you want o run on batterey power only you have to have the foot of a mouse. Still, with less then 300 miles on the vehicle and getting 17mpg I am very happy. It will be very interesting when the LION batteries are available to produce even more power. Cuddos to GM....read morehide

- Great fuel economy, Love the voice recognition feature to control most of the systems in the Tahoe.
- Not to fond of the window decals.
We've had our Tahoe Hybrid 4WD for about 2 days now. We drove just a little over 100 miles the first day combined city and highway driving on only 2.5 gallons of gas. We find that even at cruising speed, on the highway, it stays in hybrid mode only switching to full engine mode on inclines which require a boost in power. The 6.0 liter V8 allows the active fuel management system to keep the Tahoe in four cylinder mode most of the time but, when you need the power it has great pick up. The amenities are great, love the heated seats and mirrors, the navigation is decent, and the entertainment center is great. Just for kicks we watched a two hour movie sitting in our lane with the Tahoe on and with the auto stop mode we only used 0.25 gallons of fuel as, the engine only kicks on to charge the batteries during this mode. The manual says not to leave the key turned to the accessory position longer than 30 minutes so as not to run the batteries down....read morehide

- Great fuel economy. Good info presented in the driver info center.
- Not enamored with the hybrid badges on it.
Tahoe is a great vehicle in the first place but with the hybrid, you get great fuel economy for a SUV, and still have the capacity to tow, or store quite a lot of people or gear. The driver info readout is wonderful. It tells you at all times if you are in hybrid mode (if the electric motor is running) or not. Additionally it gives you a running total of how your fuel economy is and how close you are from shifting from the electric motor to the gas motor. Probably more importantly, the shifting is barley noticeable. If it were not for the screen telling you which mode you were in, you wold not be able to tell. Only thing I don't completely care for is a few too many hybrid badges on it. Great vehicle and great piece of engineering!...read morehide
