- Beautiful ride - quiet & smooth, Interior roomy & comfortable, Extra features awesome
- Car seats hard to bucket & fit in 2nd row bucket seats, 3rd row VERY hard to remove & heavy!
I bought by 2005 LT Tahoe after driving my dad's 2003 GMC Denali. My Tahoe has all the ammenieties PLUS more at a (lot) LESS cost. I absolutely love it. I traded my 2003 Dodge Durango, and while there isn't a lot more cargo room with the third row installed, there is a lot more shoulder and leg room for passengers. The third row is clunky and hard to remove (I would hope they eventually redesign so you don't have to remove them, just tuck them away) but my daughter loves to ride back there - her feet actually touch the floor (in her car seat - almost 7) plus she has leg room. She hated the 3rd row in the Durango - even she didn't have leg room. Forget trying to put an adult back there.
Another reason she likes the 3rd row is that it is very difficult to buckle in the 2nd row in a booster car seat. We chose the bucket seats so that might have something to do with that? It's almost impossible to get a good fit when the heatrest is flipped up. My son just turned four and was in a 5-point harness. While I could get a good tight fit, the seat just didn't fit nice. Luckily it was time to move him to a booster. He can't buckle himself yet so I don't want him back in the 3rd row where it is easier to buckle. Maybe with time I will find an easier way to do this.
Now that is seems I hate this vehicle... I do really love it. I think we have most of the "bells & whistles" and I love them all. This is my first vehicle with navigation system. That is really neat. I'm looking forward to our first trip somewhere to see how well it really works.
We also got the "sun, sound & entertainment package. The DVD player is awesome. I had a portable one in our old vehicle. This is WAY better. First of all, I made the kids think the have to wear the headphones in order to hear it (you can listen through the stereo) so I don't have to hear that movie! And I love satellite radio. I had Sirius in my other vehicle and I am going through minor withdrawl as I really like their programming. Hopefully I will find I love the XM just as much.
I've had it in the snow and it performs very well. I had to put it in 4WD just once. And that is when I stopped and went to go again and found myself on a patch of ice.
I am a gadget gal. I love all the buttons on the steering wheel! Very fun!
I am sure there is a lot more for me to discover.
