Very Pleased with my first Chevy

by Woodboat from Sparrows point (8/21/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy
Cons:Back seat room less then the competition but trunk is huge

XFE model. AVG fuel economy is 34.2 MPG. HWY milage consistently runs around 40 MPG. Mileage will go down quickly with a heavy foot. That class leading 146 HP doesn't come free. If someone complains about fuel economy in this car then a doctor visit is in order to have the weight of that right foot reduced.

'08 Chevy Coblat Coupe XFE

by Brian A. buanno from Fort Johnson, NY (8/12/08)
Pros:Exc. Fuel Economy, sharp looking, awesome driver info. center, XM satelite is std.
Cons:NONE

I have had this car now for 2.5 months. I am averaging between 33 and 36 miles per gallon city driving (the average speed I am driving is 29 MPH). I watch the tachometer and Instant fuel mileage reading the computer displays for me. At 50 MPH on flat roads with no wind blowing, I can get 50 MPG!!
If you are a driver and run one of these XFE's for good fuel economy this car is NO JOKE- It can obtain awesome results. The recalibarated engine puts the torque between 1&2K rpm. When the shift light indicater on the dash lights up telling you to shift do it.

Great value, good perfomance for an economy car

by Doug from Marion, OH (8/09/08)
Pros:Excellent MPG, excellent perfomance for a daily driver
Cons:ABS Should be standard as well as Cruise Control

Good little car, bought 4/1/08 drive 44+ miles a day and cant really gripe about it. Should have opted for cruise and ABS, but its a work car. GM gets an "A" for this one.

2008 Cobalt in RALLY YELLOW!

by Ridin' in My Chevy.... from Los Angeles, California (7/17/08)
Pros:Roomy inside, huge trunk space, sporty lookin', gas milage== awesome
Cons:Visor too small, No side compartment between seats

I purchased this car in Rally Yellow and love it so far! I've had nothing but compliments! I couldn't decide between this car or the 2009 Toyota Corolla S. Toyota didn't give me any deals so I went with this car! I'm glad I made the right decision! This car has more horse power than the Corolla S!!! The only downfall is..................... looking for a touch up paint for this car in Rally Yellow. I went to Kragen, PepBoys, Auto Zone and they didn't carry the color for my car.... so I had to go online to order it.

by Ken from Kalamazoo,MI (7/15/08)
Pros:I have an automatic I only have 500 miles on it and getting 28.5 non hgw
Cons:Would like the mpg to be 100 gallons oh yes, the turn signal is a bit loud

Its made in the US, not Mexico,Japan or Korea. Looks sharp, no its not a hybrid for $25+ but good on fuel. Rear seat area is very large and open. Mine is a Special Edition LT

I know that none of you so called American journalist want to hear this but we LOVE our Cobalt and we get EXCELLENT gas millage on ours. Start reporting real statistics instead of what the chinese/Japanese want you to report. And the best part IT"S AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Far better than average

by E Wood from Huntsville, Alabama (6/18/08)
Pros:31 to 33 mpg combined driving
Cons:A little too small for a big man

I bought 2 new 2008's, one for my son and one for my wife. If you are getting less than 30 mpg, I would be willing to bet that you are using cheap gas. Using cheap gas in all my vehicles dropped my gas milage between 8-15% (about 40-75 miles less per tank full) meaning you have to fill up more often costing you more money. Burn name brand gas in any car. Try it if you don't believe me. Try 2 tanks of the cheap gas and 2 tanks of name brand and see which gives you better mpg.

Great Looking Car horrible gas milage.

by Boo~ from Vemront (6/16/08)
Pros:Love the look of this car in Sport Red
Cons:Gas Milage is really bad

I love the look of this car- love driving it, but I get 27.5 miles to the gallon on the interstate going 65 miles per hour- using cruise control- My job is 25 miles from home all interstate-

Love the on star, but the gas milage is no where near the 33+ gallons they claim it to be very disappointing.
