Totally impressed with test drive

by Bill from Seattle WA (5/08/08)
Pros:Power, acceleration, braking, sound system, ride, styling
Cons:none

Am thinking of buying a new Corvette. Rented 2005 convertible with 4speed automatic in Las Vegas recently as an extended test drive to see how we liked it. Expected a fun car and it delivered more than expected. 120mph with top down was easy. Drive to over 6000ft was no problem. Accelerating onto highway was a blast like a rocket. Did hard braking at about 65 and it stops quicker than any experience before. Could hear sound system well at over 100mph with top down. Surprised at how little gas it used with our hard driving. And to think 2008 with 430HP and 6speed automatic would be even better.

MOTHER OF ALL SPORTS CARS

by Raj Munu from Redlands, CA (5/07/08)
Pros:Blistering speed and performance at a bargain of a price
Cons:NONE TO REPORT

The LS 7 Z06 is a true thorough bred of sports cars. With a price tag under $80K, you have a dream machine with incredible power and performance. 0 to 60 under 3.6 secs in first gear with the top speed of 180 mph. Need I say more. The other day, I flew by a 911 turbo, who was doing aproximately 130 mph, like he was standing still.

Go get one. You will be enjoy every driving second of it.

My First Corvette

by Rich Ortiz from Alta Loma, CA. 91737 (5/06/08)
Pros:22 MPG on trip to San Diego, Seats are comfortable. People just look and smile.
Cons:None

Great acceleration on factory stock car. My first Corvette and loving it. Looks are great love to be able to cruise along and open it up when I need to. Fast reaction when traveling along highway. Love it it's my new baby. My weekends are for riding and just having fun. Traveling down highway top down listening to Gypsy Kings with wind blowing in my hair doesn't get any better.

Pros:Looks great and very quick....goes like a scolded dog

The car is fantastic! I wish I was able to drive it more. Very quick, almost frieghtning at times. Very good value for the performance and it looks great. Wish I had bought one sooner

CORVETTE YEAH!

by DAVID RENDON from DALLAS TX (4/22/08)
Pros:IT'S A VETTE
Cons:ARE THERE ANY

I HAVE LOVED CORVETTES SINCE I WAS A YOUNGSTER. IT'S POWER, GRACE, AND ELEGANCE IS SECOND TO NONE (AND I MEAN NONE).

NEVER HAVE I LOVED THE CORVETTE MORE WITH THE CURRENT MODEL SINCE THE 1968 MODEL WITH THE NATURAL SPOILER.

OF COURSE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG ABOUT THE SPOILER.

GET IN AND ZOOM, ****, ****. SORRY SOMEONE ELSE COINED THAT PHRASE.

Could be best Corvette ever but ------

by Don Christen from Willoughby Hills, Ohio (4/09/08)
Pros:looks good, handles well, superb acceleration
Cons:clutch problems due to desighn flaw

Had to file Ohio Lemon Law on 1st 2008. Won case and reordered 2nd 2008 only to experience the same problem. Clutch goes out of adjustment if engine is revved and cluthc pedal is in a particuilar position. Engineers say it could happen again and blame my clutch maneuvers-----totally riduclous. Can't recommend this car in manual transmission. Am comopletely frustrated by GM. Was actually told by Corvette people to get rid of my Corvette and try something else!

Nice car.

by Elliott from Tustin, CA. (4/06/08)
Pros:great mileage, steering, engine
Cons:slow transmission, noisy chassis.

Got 1,700 miles on my 2008 LT1. Nice, comfortable car. Not as solid and as quiet as I would like it to be. I,ve got two other cars with blown V-8's that make my vette feel a little lazy, but it's still a good car for the money.

Wish I would have bought five years ago

by Phil from Southport, CT (4/02/08)
Pros:Speed, Comfort for tall driver, Value, no rattles
Cons:Base stereo is sad for $50K car, doesn't handle bumps well

I just took delivery of my first Corvette, a 2008 Coupe, automatic, Z51 package, and chrome wheels.

The car is beautiful and extremely powerful. The car is very comfortable for 6' 2" driver and is flat out scary fast. I wish I would have bought one a few years ago, but it is better late than never.

I've only had one day, but after driving for a few hours, I don't think I'll ever not have a Vette. It just puts a smile on my face when I punch the accelerator. It's like driving a 430 horsepower Ipod. You just put in your favorite music and go. Suddenly all of your worries are gone. We wouldn't need psychologists, Oprah or Dr. Phil if everyone could strap on this amount of horsepower and go for a drive. I can't wait until the weather gets a little better in CT, so I can take the top off.
