The worest car I have had.

by Ward from San Gabriel, CA (8/07/08)
Cons:Brake squeeze, Air conditioning not cool , poor driving performnance

Brake squeeze, dealer repaired three times, squeeze still on.
Engine light on and fuel meter malfunction after fuel up.
tire in new, suddenly shredded out in normal highway driving.
I had GM-Safari, in compare, other than the mileage is little better,
upderlander has nothing in good.
poor interior design, no arm rest in middle seats, floor is not flat.

Good for adult day trip, not a family friendly van

by Dave from Toronto (7/20/08)
Pros:The ability to expand the overhead system.
Cons:Not family friendly, felt crammed, not easy in/out, bouncy suspension

I rented this car for a roadtrip vacation I was just on, the problems never stopped.

Passengers were getting car sick due to the very loose suspension, it was like riding a boat during a hurricane.

Only the 2 middle seats had links for the latch system, installing 2 car seats into these seats, made it impossible for passengers to get into the back 3 seats without removing the car seat, which made it quite a hassle.
When these 2 seats were in, the legroom remaining for the passengers in the 3rd row was non existant.
The trunk room behind the 3rd row was what is normally found in a minivan.

Not sure what the people at Budget were thinking when they chose this as their minivan alternative, seems like no one with a family tried this vehicle.

I also used this car when 5 adults went on a snowboarding trip.
This situtation, the van was satisfactory.

My previous rental was the Chrysler Town and Country, which was a dream in comparision, the trunk was huge, the leg room was ample, can't really think of a complaint for that van.

Nice but am shopping for another vehicle

by Crystal from Beach Park, IL (7/10/08)
Pros:Good fuel economy, stylish
Cons:Ride is rough, middle seats do not recline, do not have arm rest, door chimes sporadically

I own a 2006 Uplander. Really enjoy it for the most part with a few complaints. The middle bucket seats do not recline back, do not have inside arm rests and are quite narrow. The motorized passenger doors are a nice convenience, however the door chimes sometimes go off sporadically with no way of turning them off.
My husband's Ford F-150 rides smoother than this thing!

Conclusion: If I had to do it again, I'd buy somet

by David Murino from Mentor, Ohio (6/21/08)
Pros:Good fuel milage, comfort, family friendly, smooth ride, and spacious
Cons:brake pads replaced at 6k, motorized door, and choppy idle

We purchased this van for lack of Ford not offering any true minivans. In the course of 11 months, it has been to the dealership about 10 times. The most annoying was the brakes as they made a high pitched squeal within the first 2k miles. Of course the dealership "could not replicate" the problem and took 4 more times and nearly 4k more miles later until the dealership replaced the brake pads. Second, the motorized door (only has one motorized door) is absolute junk: I have had the motor replaced, locking mechanism replaced, two hinges replaced, and the chimes go off randomly. Not to mention the mechanic (Classic Chevy Mentor, Ohio) that caused a scrap in the exterior paint, headliner grease stains, and dirt stains all over the right rear molding (stay away from the motorized door option!) and getting a courtesy car should be hassle free. Third, the windsheild wiper motor had to be replaced after a bad winter storm as the wipers close inward resulting in an excessive amount of ice to accumulate in the center causing the motor to fail.

Great Milage!

by Sue from St. Petersburg, FL/Hamilotn, ON. (6/05/08)
Pros:ex. fuel economy, very roomy, only 2008 (GM's) that will take a hadicapped front passenger seat.
Cons:No major complaints

Had problem with tire pressure monitor system, repaired quickly at no charge of course. Drove from Toronto to St. Petersburg and back this past winter, drove great and fantastic milage 31 mpg U.S. on highway, and in city of near 26 at all times. I have a back problem so that's my only con, I don't find the seats comfortable at all compared to our old Taurus station wagon. Find them very hard, others say they're good, so that's just me.

Should have purchased a Toyota OR Honda

by John Heilman from Lancaster Pa (5/26/08)
Cons:IN shop almost twice a month.. GM willn't buy back .

Trans problems. Now fxied after 6 months. The warranty bill was 2500.00 The brakes sound like a school bus. 4 times to fix. Just got new brakes and rotors. Abs lite and service engine soon lite always on. Rear power doors open when driving.. GM Willn't buy back this vehicle. Dealer said that why u have a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty. STAY CLEAR OF THIS VAN. Buy a HONDA or TOYOTA. Please save your money and time.. It will be back in the shop next week for ABS LITE again. It will be there for two days. $26000.00 was a waste of money for this car. It's only 10 months old. Tried to trade it in but other dealers don't want this vehicle. The vehicle was paid for in full..

Poor Styling

by BC (5/16/08)

It is poor styling. To me it looks like GM chop off the frontal of previous minivan model and put in frontal truck. There is no artistic intelligent here. I don't think GM can sell alot of it with this kind of styling. It's so sad.

Wouldn't buy anything but

by Carol Shufelt from Watervliet, NY (4/03/08)
Pros:for a V6 this is great on gas fill it up every two weeks
Cons:no problems

For 30 years my family has been buying Chevys. For a V6 this is great on gas fill it up every two weeks and with two teenagers running to different sporting events. We have traveled all the way to Florida and it was a very comfortable ride and great on gas. Any problems i have had the dealer has always made good on them. We have bought other mini vans and always had trouble right from the start and the companys not standing buy there product. Our last van was the venture and we had it 12years with over 148,000 miles only gave it up because the bottom rusted out.

Better than Toyota mini-van

by Veronique Tucker from Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023 (4/03/08)
Pros:I love this mini-van. Its great on gas, drives smooth, handles well, and very sporty looking.
Cons:Drives very smooth and even over bumps and pot holes.

I couldn't believe until I drove it the first time. It handled like a car and had more room than my old SUV. I love this mini-van. I swore I would never drive anything than a SUV, until I saw the Uplander. Its a great mini-van. Even people who hate mini-van love my Chevy Uplander. It drives smooth, great on gas, roomy, and looks cool.
