- I love the big Hemi Engine I like the MyGig package too. I love everything about my beautiful Aspen.
- NONE I have had no problems at all.
Purchased As New
I love my Chrysler Aspen 4x4. I love the power from the Hemi and I also like the MyGig where I can store pictures and songs on the hard drive. The chrome looks great and I love the big wheels. I got my Aspen loaded to the top and I love the Power Liftgate. You should get a Chrysler Aspen.
I traded in my Jeep Grand Cherokee for this beautiful car and have not had one problem with it. The remote start is worth the extra $300.00 because it heats up or cools down your car with a touch of a button. I also like the key because you don't have to be 30ft. away like you do with the Tahoe or Yukon.
I looked at many other cars too like the Yukon,Tahoe,Escalade, and Sequoia and Aspen won hands down.
I love my Aspen and always will. You should buy the Aspen you can't compete with the Tahoe because of the great price....read morehide

- Very nice looking, lots of power, SO many nice features, nice size
- gas mileage (we knew this going in)
I just got the 2008 Chrysler Aspen after my husband totaled my 2005 Ford Expedition. I LOVE this car! (I LOVED my Expedition, too, but I like this just a little bit more) We have three kids, ages 8, 6, and 3, so car seat/booster was a consideration, as was long trips, space inside, etc. This is our "family car." I also have to drive carpool so the third row is essential for us. I got the captain's chairs in the second row. So far, it is VERY comfortable, and all the neighbors think its either a Lincoln Navigator or Cadillac Escalade--it looks that nice on the outside (I got the Cool Vanilla). Everything inside so far just seems to be a step up in quality from my Expedition, which was an Eddie Bauer. I feel as though I've bought a luxury car, even though the car payment is lower! My husband insisted on getting the Hemi, and he was right. The power is definitely better than the Expedition. I also like the fact that it isn't quite as wide (easier to park), although I don't feel a significant difference in comfort inside. In fact, the lumbar support is better than any car I've driven (I have also had a Toyota and a Jeep Grand Cherokee).
The added features you can get on this vehicle are incredible. It came with the backup sensors (also on my Expedition) AND a camera (which I didn't have), and the DVD is so much easier than my other car because it loads in the front, but the kids can control it with the backseat remote. The Sattelite radio & Nav are also nice, and the voice recognition feature is fantastic--you can make a phone call without even getting your phone out of your purse.
I would recommend to anyone purchasing that you negotiate the best price for the most features--the dealership was willing to work with us as the auto industry is really, really suffering. (Get them to throw in as much as you can!)
My husband, who just got a new car in Sept, is insanely jealous. He loves this car, too.
I am wondering now why Chrysler isn't going to make the Aspen for 2010--it is a GREAT car and they should have been marketing it more heavily. I didn't know about it until I started researching vehicles comparable to the Expedition. It is an "upscale" Dodge Durango, which they will continue to make, but the "upscale" is what makes it great--for the price, you can't find anything else to compare to it....read morehide

- Looks awesome, drives great, comfortable, decent gas milage for size
- None I know of
I bought this Aspen for my wife whoneeds an SUV for her craft shows. She absolutely loves it. The features for the money far surpass other SUV's. The backup sensors and camara have saved me from backing out of tight spots on many occassions. The automatic lift gate will spoil you when you have to load stuff in the back.
We have owned several Chrysler products over the years and I have never had many problems with any of them. I don't understand why Chrysler gets such a bad rap. It also comes with the lifetime powertrain warranty and we purchaged the lifetime warranty for the rest of the vehicle, so we will have worry free enjoyment with this car for many years to come.
I'm also quite happy with the gas milage. I wasn't expecting much, since it is an SUV, but the first weekend we had it, I took an 800 mile round trip with it and got over 20 miles per gallon on the highway! It wasn't even "broken in" yet. I hope Chrysler survives. I like their cars. Their styling, the comfort, the performance, blows all the other domestic and many of the foreign car makers way....read morehide

- drives smooth, roomy for family
- paint has orange peel, gas mileage
I bought my Aspen in July 08. I love the way it drives. Not a super big suv but with all the power. We have the hemi. Gas mileage isnt too great but what do you expect with a suv. I didnt buy it to save on gas but it would have been a plus. We got a great price on the j package. The only thing I notice was the paint, it has a orange peel to it. If you look at it the paint looks like it has dimples, I ask a friend of mine that paints cars and said that alot of the new cars have this type paint jobs. To save money I guess . Other then that I love my new ASPEN....read morehide

- Looks nice when parked at service deparment
- LEMON from Day 1, returned immedately, took 6 month to get money back
Car was taken back two days after I bought it for shaking violently on highway. The dealer, Trend Motors - Succasunna, NJ, changed the tires and TOLD US IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE, drove it home, problem not fixed and took it back to service the next day. Trend Motors Service and Chrysler REPEATADLTY TOLD TO DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. The also told us they were having the same problem with other cars and then later denied saying that. The replaced exhaust and driveshaft and problem was not fixed, after 3 months (I only had the car for about 10 days, the rest of time was parked at dealer) I finally refused to take car back and hired a lawyer. The originally refused to acknowledge the car as a LEMON and refused to settle. My attorney had to threaten a fraud suit in superior court before Chrysler offered a refund. Then the settlement process took over 7 weeks. All the while Chrysler Financial required us to make monthly payments and threaten our credit if payment were missed.
Chrysler Corporate, Trend Motors and Chrysler Financial not only did everything to try and force us to drive this unsafe vehicle but also treated us like liars and deadbeats throughout the entire process. I strongly encourage you to go someplace else. Buy a different car....read morehide

- Interior, Exterior, My GiG system, just everything!
- Gas Mileage is horrible, but it is worth it!
I just recently got this SUV and I LOVE it!! From it's formal exterior to the technological and upscale interior features! I have had nothing but compliments about my vehicle since I've gotten it. People I don't even know stop me and ask me what kind of SUV it is b/c it is such an eye catcher! Chrysler has struck gold when they created this vehicle! Nothing but pure bliss!...read morehide

- easy to handle, drives very nice, looks great and is comfortable. Quality & Luxury at a good price.
- Gas milage should be better. Side veiw mirror housing should have pwr. in/out folding in J package.
The Aspen Limited J package is a very good Luxury SUV for the money which ain't cheap but is exceptable and should compete well with other SUV's in it's class.

- Features, room, power, safety and looks
- None that we can find
My wife and I bought this car last September and after owning several other SUV's, this is the best one by a mile. We went with the 4x2 and the gas milage is super. We are on vacation now and averaged over 20 mpg on the way down. Our last SUV was a Jeep Commander and it was a nightmare. I highly recommend to anyone looking to buy one. As everyone else stated the looks you get and comments and compliments are everywhere. Compare the interior room with the Ford Expedition and you'll be amazed at how close it is without the oversized body....read morehide

- No trim specified for this review
- Highway 20.2 MPG
- After 27,000 miles front rotor need to be turned
My Aspen after 25,000 miles has started to jerk/surge/ quivers and shakes when it encounters an incline. Dealer can't find anything wrong but will have two (2) more times to get it right before the Lemon Law kicks in! The vechicle is smooth as silk until it encounters a load, regardless of speed, in or out of tow. The fuel saver switch from 4 to 8 cylinders I suspect has something to do with it. Why did it wait until 25,000 miles to produce this annoying traite. I love the power when towing my jeep to the mountains or pulling a 21 foot deck boat through traffic....read morehide

- great value with the J package
- gas mileage with the hemi could be better
This is the best suv value on the market...with the j package and a couple of other options. It offers everything that Toyota, GMC and ford offer in a luxury suv for about 8-10k less. I get around 19mpg on the highway, and about 14-16 around town...with the hemi. If one drove more prudently, the mileage would be better. I've had Yukons and Tahoes, and this is as good, if not better...for far less money....read morehide
